Then another place the went is a alien zoo where the kids was one of the exhibit. I wish I remembered that movie or TV show name I went to revist my childhood. OH THANK GOD! I wasn't just a dumb kid who couldn't understand the plot, the plot was just bad, and believe me, the Disney Channel here reran this weird abomination many times, so I had it ingrained in my memories. But yes, even as a kid I could tell that this movie was bad, nonsensical and messy as hell, and yes, the only redeeming feature of it was the alien design.

@mariawhite7337

I remember the alien he thought of was a telepathic species so it wasn't that odd to me as a kid. There is a scene with this alien where the kid puts his hand on the window and then he does all these door openings and such. So it was this alien that told him how to do it. maybe it was just me that saw that and thought that. Now how he knew before hand I don't know at all. There is no explanation for it at all. There is an explanation for the satellite dish though, that's what we used to use for like a month for satellite tv. I know because one of my aunts had one in their backyard. SO its not that odd for the time the movie was made.

I have been waiting for this review for so long now. It did not disappoint. I remember this movie because I think it came out around a birthday I had as a kid, and it scared me. Then I found something out, it's a book. A children's book. The book was better, what a shock, but still not great. I enjoyed this movie because it was something to mock that I was afraid of. I was secretly hoping that it would be reviewed more positively, but I expected this. I was expecting, "What was that?" And I am so happy.

Which I kind of think is the problem, a problem a lot of Disney movies have. They waste the first half the movie building up the standard teen/kid drama and THEN get to the plot. I remember wishing stuff like Hocus Pocus wouldn't waste so much time about how much the kids school life, home life etc sucked. This movie wasted way to much time with the standard nerd in school tropes before getting to the aliens and other crazy idea's. Idea's that are better than most the movies in Hollywood these days. Aliens coming to earth to get movie rights? Genius.

For a long time I believed this was a film I imagined up in a fever dream or something. All I could remember was the snot looking alien and really vague memories of the zoo stuff. This film really is a can of worms

There is actually a good theory on this movie. There was suppose to be a sequel but was dropped due to several other movies getting better ratings. The plot was going to example everything except for several other factors. The kids got appeared in the films were hired for other films and the budget ended up being double the estimated amount.

This review drove it home that this might be a tough Disney-cember. I probably watched all or most of the movies Doug is gonna look at, but it's been so long since I've seen them I barely remember them. There are a few I definitely remember liking and not liking, but then there's stuff like this. I remember watching it, but I don't remember what actually happened in it. Except that Malcolm Mcdowell voiced the dog. You don't forget some shit like that.

I remember when this one came out. Halloweentown and Zenon were popular major so there was a lot of publicity and anticipation for this one. I remember liking the aliens and the third act of the movie (in a Douglas Adams sort of way), but I couldn't remember the rest of the plot at all. It never had as many re-airings (if any) as the other other Disney Channel Original movies which were replayed ad nauseam those first few years.

I remember when this aired. I remember thinking it was great, but after a year of it never appearing on TV, or even being alluded to, I forgot everything about it other than the name. When I talked about it with other people, I could never tell them what it was about because I just couldn't remember anything that happened in the movie, but for some stupid reason, I remembered all of those hand gestures with that device that opened the doors and operated the space ship.
