Jack and Jill. That movie was BAD. It wasn't even so bad it was good. It was so bad I forgot I had seen it. I had a long discussion with my mother about whether I had even seen it. Once the memories came back, so did the pain. I sometimes wonder if it was a literal repressed memory. Might not be the worst of all time, but it was certainly the worst I saw at a cinema.

Speaking of horrible sequels, let me tell a quick story. One night in university, I was bored, so I thought I'd go see two movies in the theaters. They were both sequels from a movie or franchise I'd enjoyed and their trailers looked promising, so I thought what the hell. So, back-to-back, I saw the 7 PM and 9 PM showings of each movie. That night, I watched ALIEN RESURRECTION, immediately followed by MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION.

It is astonishing to me how they could get so much right with Mortal Kombat and get everything wrong with Annihilation. Mortal Kombat was such a triumph of video game movies. It's still one of the best video game movies ever made. It just hurts me head how they fucked up the sequel.

oh so your one of the crappy fans who are completely nostalgia blind. the OG's weren't perfect, miles off. A new hope and empire are better than return of the Jedi, and Force awakens is still a great film, even if it is similar to new hope. The same thing basically happened with phantom too, and i feel that recreating the old films with different plots and new characters is great, and it's better than new hope as well as Jedi. However, a new hope was made in 1977 and was the first, so it gets points for that, but it's also boring at times and the transition from the death star to Yavin was very rushed. Force improves on everything, better acting, better plot, better character development, and a very saddening death of Han. And last jedi looks fantastic compared to attack of the clones, where we have creepy anakin stalk padme for half the movie and complain like a whiny 5 yr old.

I said "it wasn't as good as the first" not because what you wrongly assumed I thought were not only the highlights of the film, but are also what I considered "funny" ended up being the complete opposite... Those scenes were few and far between though and hardly enough to make the film a "disappointment". In fact, the first film had jokes that went too far. so that makes no sense within itself... Look, if you didn't like it that's cool, but the film doesn't deserve to be called a "disappointment". For a sequel I have seen far worse and none of those ended up on Doug's list may I add. Where's Highlander 2? It's one of the THE WORST sequel of all time. Company intervention and public riots near the shooting ground, completely destroyed this movie. Christopher Lambert almost leave the project midway, because he's not a moron, but stayed anyway due to contract. Even the own director walked out after 15 minutes of the movie premiere.

star wars: VII why? because it's a complete rehash of a new hope. 1. In the first 5 minutes I predicted every line ,death, plot point, out come and the climax. 2. The whole movie is saying " Hey member this, member this, member that, member when this happened, and member when this made this happen?" And I'm like "Yeah in fact I can pop in the first one and watch that instead" 3.The villian had potential, but he's not only a rehash of Vader, but a rehash if prequel Anikan. You know the " he's not evil he's just misunderstood and feels like he's being held back" kind of villian. Because that worked so well in the prequels. But hey its has a female protagonist and a black guy so.....it's therefore original, right?

The Phantom Menance was mostly bad due to Luke and Jar Jar. But it had its good points, the Darth Maul fight was legitmately great. In fact the prequels had amazimg fighting, as they actually had their own form of martial arts created, and everyone trained in it to actually be able to swing solid and hard rids at each other at very high speeds. Revenge of the Sith was overall prrtty great. And the fight on Mustafar was bloody great.

Hey, it's ok to like the prequels. But there's one thing I cannot stand. Calling people disliking them blinded by nostalgia and denying the flaws of the originals beacause they grew up watching them. The vast majority of people who enjoy the prequels are around 16 - 26 years old and thus you could safely say that they 'grew up' with the prequel trilogy. They watched the Clone Wars shows, played Battlefront II and maybe even picked up some comicbooks. Now, having aged a bit, they start feeling nostalgia towards the times they were younger and thus associate most of the things from that time period with positive feelings. And effectively they are guilty of the very thing they accuse older fans of doing, and that's letting nostalgia make the judgement for them. But as I said, it's alright to like them. Now I can't comprehend how anyone could argue for especially the first two being genuinely good movies, but I'm not here to judge the movies, just share my opinion on why I think people like them so much

The worst superhero sequel has to be Elektra, seriously, how does this movie escaped being worst superhero film time and time again beats me, but somebody looked at 2002's Daredevil and said: "You know that bland and token character from the first movie, let's make another film completely around her, where magic's real now." I think in the concept of sequels Star Wars: The Clone Wars is also really disappointing, the TV show was... good, but the pilot movie that belongs into a direct-to-video tie-in somehow got into the cinema is really bad, you'd think that for Star Wars they would get something better than a TV-animated budget for a whole movie, but nope.

I can agree with that. It didn't feel like a run and gun production or low budget, but it still felt like a proper narrative continuation to me. It might have been made with a higher budget but it had the same spirit and it felt like a natural progression. The pirates sequels messed up by making jack the main character. Jack sparrow is too weak off a character to be the main. He is one of the best supporting characters, but shouldn't be a lead. The original movie was will and Elizabeth's with jack on the side for some humor. I still enjoy pirates 2 and 3 but I recognize that they aren't as good of a movie

If you haven't figured it out, Doug is a pretentious. Despite the fact that he has beat the dead horse of the Nostalgia Critic character into fine dust to fuel his career if somebody more famous then him does it, that is bad. Kevin Smith went back to what launched his career and said "I love these characters I wanna do something with them, but I'm not that guy anymore so I'm gonna do something with them as the guy I am now" which is why the movie works so well. But pretentious people will just look at it and complain that it is nothing like the original clerks.

I can see that, especially with the performances of Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson and certain badass Star Wars moments(pod race and duel of fates scene). Personally all the other elements just don’t flow and never immerse me in the story like the other ones. But I will always enjoy the film, even if it is mostly for the nostalgia of it, which is also my stance on episode two as well

True. Funnily enough, nukes actually have saved more lives then they’ve taken. If nukes were never invented, then World War 3 would have been pretty much inevitable between the US and USSR and their respective allies. But nukes forced people to hesitate, knowing that in a nuclear war everybody loses, so it’s really not worth it. So nukes have ironically made the world more peaceful by making full scale war much more costly. Of course all of this hinges on the people in power being smart enough to not actually using nukes. We’ve been fortunate so far, but there have been some close calls.

What the Critic said about the Batman and Robin movie is precisely what I (and LEGIONS of others) feel about Teen Titans Go. We don't want to see a corny, offensive and boorish satire about our favorite heroes. We WANT THEM to be taken seriously! But instead, the creators decided to pee in our eye-holes not once...but twice. Because this idiotic garbage heap of a show is getting its own THEATRICAL MOVIE! If that's not bad enough, the film creators are bribing the public. Claiming that if the movie's "successful," they'll make a sixth season of the original show. NO the real problem is that they focused on "actors" and not on the Robots. The transformers cartoons were all about the robots and the humans got camo or supporting roles. In the Live action Michal Bayplosions version its all about the HUmans and the Robots are given Cameos and supporting roles. That's why the new transformer movies suck.

I actually liked that aspect in the first movie. The idea of the humans sitting there trying to figure out what they were up against and how to deal with it in the first half was great. Once they cut to their main human character though...well, at that point I just wanted to focus on the fake giant robots.

I really wasn't much of a fan of the first live action Transformers either. The whole movie is just this buildup for what you think is going to be this epic showdown, then in the end it's just Optimus, Shia, and the army guys dealing with the decepticons while Bumblebee gets his legs blown off, Jazz gets ripped in half, and Ironside and Ratchet just go somersaulting down the street while explosions go off in the back ground
