Wait. A car that looks like a cheeseburger? Oh no. Did SpongeBob rip off Good Burger?

You really DON’T need a license to drive a sandwich, it would seem. I’m honestly surprised Krabs would buy a car for employees delivering food. The cheapskate
@carmenherrera88125 жыл бұрын
I feel that Spongebob takes a lot of material from previous classic Nickelodian material. A car cheese burger is not the only inspiration from Good Burger to Spongebob. The main villain trying to take to take Ed's sauce clearly inspired Plankton trying to steal Krabby Patty formula. Spongebob is also clearly inspired by two classic Nicktoons as well: Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy. The humor, the scenerios, and the style of writing of Spongebob is really similar to both of these shows. As a matter of fact, most of the creators of Rocko's Modern Life went on to make Spongebob. In my honest opinion, Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy are waaayyy better shows than Spongebob SquarePants, and they're more influential. People usually give Spongebob too much credit to being influential, and did groundbreakingly original, when really when I think about it, it's not original.Everything what Spongebob did, Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy(And even CatDog) did it better.

Now that the show's out of the spotlight and the writers are all dead, they are stuck having to finish up their final season using some jackass to replace them all.
@themysteriouscatperson94835 жыл бұрын
Cody Smith Are you talking about spongebob? First off, the show still has really good ratings, and there’s a new movie coming out and a spin-off, so spongebob is definitely still in the spotlight. Second, only one writer is dead, and that’s the creator. Plus most of the writers have been new, good writers ever since season 9. Also, spongebob’s been renewed for a thirteenth season, so is not ending anytime soon. To quote Kermit, “you know it’s amazing, you are 100% wrong. I mean, nothing you’ve said has been right”

So basically, the movie replaced Kenan with some guy from Batman to free up Kenan to create a new unlikable character in order to kick off this stupid story that shoehorns Ed the Stupid Good Burger Guy into a bastardized attempt at ripping off Beavis and Butt-Head's misadventures as Burger World employees?

@Mai Nyigguh Actually doug is right, while playing a role in the good burger skits Keenan's character was basically an guest extra and not an actual starring member of the Good burger cast...
@mckenzie.latham914 жыл бұрын
To be fair kenan's character was not a starring member of the good burger cast, he played an extra for those segements there's one episode where Ed drinks so much soda and has to pee but the customers keep preventing him from going bathroom and kenan plays a plumber who arrives on the scene for a few seconds... he would play guest star and or extra characters and so wasn't top billing for at least those series of skits.
@boisegameshowguy4 жыл бұрын
My point is I think he forgot that character. I find myself rewatching the one where Ed gave Lester a good burger when he ordered a shake. Lester insisted on getting his shake and Ed “juicified” the burger in a household blender. Might’ve worked if he used a blendtec. Lol jk

This came out back in the days when Dan Schneider (who's in this movie) was pretty alright at skit humor (but not yet with longer projects), with All That, Kenan and Kel, and The Amanda Show, but had yet to branch into the works he'd be best known for which incorporated his random teen sitcom humor like Drake and Josh, Zoey 101 (the only one of his shows to not have a laugh track) and iCarly. However he sadly devolved as he kept reaching towards Drake and Josh references for humor in later shows (either as a means of reliving the glory days of his career in the mid 2000s or stroking his own cock) and we can't forget the memes of his name due to his several strange instances of foot related gags. I think after the early 2010s he just stopped trying and his most recent shows (which have all been cancelled, I believe due to the allegations) really show. I don't know why I typed all this... oh yeah, Nick's current sitcoms... yeah, I'll take this any day.

alot of times people would rather go after a soft target. I worked with a large general contractor for a short time and if something went wrong they'd rather bankrupt a small, virtually defenseless subcontractor rather then go after a large multinational company. It was easier since the big multinational companies have an army of lawyers and if they lose one case it makes them look weak and more people will try to sue them, so they'd rather spend $100k to prevent losing $10k court case, whereas the small subcontractor doesnt have lawyers on standby so its easier to squeeze money out of them.

This movie has aged incredibly well tbh. You know some movies that you have nostalgia for that you should absolutely avoid after you've grown up? (Space Jam) This isn't one of those. I watched this movie again recently and I still absolutely loved it.
@efan20118 жыл бұрын
Agreed, it's actually aged really well and I get some of the plot points and jokes more than I did in my younger days. One of the few 90's kids films that hasn't aged badly and really it shows how it was to be a teen in the 90's well. It was a crazy, fun, and great time to live in. How I miss it.

8:35 - 8:45: What I didn't see in there was a menu. All the money that would've gone into the instruments, lights, fireworks, stage, limos, red carpet, etc., but I honestly didn't even notice any sort of menu or what you could order at the front of the restaurant. All I have to go on is the"Burgers, Fries and Shakes" text underneath the Mondo Burger sign. I'm not even sure how much of that food he had to sell to get out of the red.
