I think a 3rd Season box with High Elves and Tomb Kings in November would be perfect now. All the FAQs put in a new Rulebook, a new Almanac and then that's every team done. Leaving 2025 for the other two chaos factions, maybe Brets and whatever else they can give us! Blood Bowl is the best GW game, love the look of these Chaos Dwarves!

I think this is one of the better GW releases for Blood Bowl. They've updated Chorfs nicely without messing too much of the team which helps existing players like myself, but Centaurs as separate models - ouch! 😖 Love that the Chorf blockers are now the linemen and not hobgoblins, for 7s teams it feels right 👍 *edit: just got to the point in the GW video where they say the Hobgoblins are linemen 🤦🏻‍♂️

I like the changes. It might not make the team win more than the old but it will make them more unique which I think is a good thing. And the flame spitters are probably extremely situational but not bad, what other player straigh out of the box have a 50% chance to put Griff on his ass without support? 75% with a RR. Those guys are going to be really interesting in tournaments as counters to starplayers. I like the loss of tackle in favour of iron hard skin. Yes it makes the team weaker over all but I think that was a really good design choice from a meta perspective. Making the matches against them more unique and not like playing dwarfs with str 4 blitzers. As long as they get to keep block and don't get the OWA treatment I think this is a good thing. Shadowing and stab on a hobgoblin tho? Probably making them closer to the dwarfs than the other hobgoblins in price which makes it hard to justifying their place on the pitch.

Wonder if the Chorf blockers still have access to mutations. Iron hard skin makes complete sense since the sorceries they used (in their army book) slowly turned them to stone. Mutations were actually very rare and are represented by the Bull Centaurs (blessed by Hashut or whatever)

In the Chaos Dwarf lore, only the Chaos Dwarf Sorcerers slowly turn to stone due to using magic (not the regular chaos dwarves). So the new Chaos Dwarf team can have at least 6 wizards on the pitch now, fireballs anyone lol. :)

Iron Hard Skin now affecting Mighty Blow (for armour modification) might now make taking random mutations more worth the risk, which could be great fun. I'm not sure I like this trend in "powering up" the teams when new minis come out, though, as it leaves many behind. Despite the loss of tackle, these new Chaos Dwarfs seem straight up more capable. (Who needs Tackle when you can just flamethrow blodgers?)

Hey everyone, I realise. I'm late to the party (and not in a "cool" way 🙂) but I really love how they've changed this team. It's a leveller that was needed, on an initial T1000 team, plus they've added some appropriate but less powerful positionals that make things more interesting (unless you're a munchkin). I hope they do the same thing to "normal" dwarf teams. How about: 0-6 Blockers with just Block {or maybe Brawler 😆) and then 0-6 Longbeards with Tackle or something.

Personally, I'm not too fond of the aesthetic I think most 3rd party teams look better, got my torchlight team and that is what I will be using. Not sold on the rules changes, fire-spitters feel like a poor man's replacement for tackle, 1/6 knockdown, 1/3 chance of prone. If blockers aren't capped at 4 I am not sure I would use them, certainly not if paying for the skill. Would have preferred a new edition, that actually does what this one was meant to, making throwers and passing relevant again.., Toning down stars and encouraging less of a bash-focused environment, would also be on my wish list

I totally forgot CD had a Minotaur! If the dwarfs have armour of 10+, they're going to be a real pain to get rid off. More so with the skin mutation and changes to the rule meaning it can't be modified at all!

I just wish we could play them without hobgoblins. I am a big fan of new chorf models, not so much of hobgoblins. Bull centaurs are amazing looking. But, more then likely, we will have 0-6 of blockers, 0-2 of fire breathers and 0-2 of bull centaurs. Plus a minotaur. Wait... :P

@@sonomirko - I don't think I used the word "nerf" at all... just pointing out that the skill drastically reduces the effectiveness of players with a certain trait when facing this new team, and there are only four of them in the game (goblin and Helmut being most common, with Bryce Cambeul and Max Spleenripper being the other two). Some match-ups are harder than others, and it shouldn't be any different for stunty teams - it just makes me wonder if the chainsaw will be a positional that gets cut more often once Chaos Dwarfs are in the mix.

Already the bomb nerv, taking away "mighty blow" was bad and I felt it. I know that they don't make this consciously, but it is annoying that the statistically worst team suffers. Every time.

they explicitly say negates all armour modifiers including MB, as MB can be used on injury or armour, its not just an armour modifier but still modifies armour should you chose to use it.

I'm happy for all those excited. For me this is two releases in a row I am really disappointed with. The gnomes were just goofy for me and I didn't like the look of them. The chaos dwarf looks okay even though I highly prefer the old ones. But the rules for them just seem like too much of a departure just to make them "interesting". I don't like it at all. As some people say more blood bowl is good blood bowl so cheers for that at least.

This has 50% chance to take a blodger down. That's the same as a 1-die block only if you have wrestle and tackle.

I really dont like these minis, I got all teams so far from GW, but i think ill pass on them. They know CD are a great team, so it almost looks like they said, well whatever we create they will buy as its a good team. and thats not ok, if your asking the prices GW are. Firebreathing should have had the self-knockdown on a 0, so it's only a risk against big guys. They're losing most of their ability to stop AG teams from scoring, so a couple of low-risk, low-reward punches in the scrum would help build them up as a resilient team. I'm guessing they don't start with block and won't get SPPs for firebreathing (not that they'll be using it, it's just going to be a tax on dwarfs 5-6), so they really need a better ability than bad dauntless. They don't have sure hands and rerolls are 70k, they're not looking to roll 1d blocks.

I honestly don't like the flame spitters. Trash. If your stuck at 4 blockers and two spitters that team got the opposite of a "glow up" rules wise. Losing tackle is HUGE. Feels like they made the team worse and less capable. Unless the spitters have a higher movement it's a crap positional. Like the dark elf stabber no one really uses.

Yeah, it seems like they got weaker. I'm happy to lose mass tackle because I don't like how it skews certain matchups, but IMO it should have been replaced with arm bar. And the new hobgoblins should have had tackle to keep it available; stab isn't good enough to be the team's sole anti-skink mechanism. This team looks like it will struggle to stop zons and lizards from just walking past them.

Agreed on losing tackle will shake out as a nerf. Potentially a buff to the Minotaur assuming it still has mighty blow. Unless the fire breather or hobgoblin position is buffed in some way. I hope the fire breathers are blockers with extra rather than totally nerfed with a mediocre edge case skill... Movement 4 strength 3 no block would really really suck...
