While they are ostensibly prohibited from serving Chaos, they feed it nonetheless. Whenever Ork spores settle down and change the ecosystem, or Orks change the course of a culture by interacion with them, or they change a landscape with their "Orkiforming" abilities or constantly tinker in new forms of technology and bizarre mad science, they are feeding Tzeentch. Whenever they revel in the cacophony of their guns, or the sweet smell of destruction as their barbaric form of hyper-ecstasy ,or howl in pain or rage, or exhult in the glory of victory from collecting large amounts of teef or see a pile of skraps, they feed Slaanesh. And whenever they tear down a defensive structure, or litter the battlefield with their dead and their derelict vehicles, they are feeding Nurgle. Orks are already semi-Khornate, but they're still xenos but, they love killing, fightings, and spreading blood, and they stick spikes over all their shit. Plus they have a lot of skulls.Only thing they dont have is the rage since its all fun for them.

Same. It's always bugged me that there are no examples of xenos races falling to Chaos in the modern game. There should be a named character Daemon Prince that's an Eldar or something. It just makes sense that there would occasionally be members of non-human species that are corrupted to that extent.

You could definitely have Tzeentchian and Slaaneshi Orks as well, it'd just be way less common than Khornate ones. A Tzeentchian Ork would be one who's constantly scheming against other Orks in an effort to be the next Big Boss or something. Honestly, a particularly clever Grot is probably more likely to be corrupted by Tzeentch since they're more prone to long term planning than Orks are. Slaanesh is easy, though. You just get one or more Orks who love speed even more than their Speed Freak brethren and who take it to a point of utter excess and you can get Slaanesh worshiping Orks. It'd be incredibly rare, but not impossible and is definitely a fun idea for an army or something.

Slaanesh is the god of excess , not just pleasure and pain. I just wish you used excess in your description. Also nurgle is the god of healing as well as decay. It's very complex and nuanced as I'm sure your well aware. Outstanding vid, great presentation, thank you for all of this lore!

14:05 I think the Imperium would be no further motivated to eradicate Xenos. But my real thoughts on chaos orcs is that the orc race amply demonstrates that advocacy for a lifestyle focus does not automatically force someone into the sway of the ruinous powers. Orcs don't fundamentally act any different from a khorne berserker, aside from the extreme pain those individuals experience when not killing. Despite this, being a red orc is almost unheard of when you would think their entire race would just be direct servants of khorne. So this demonstrates that there is something more than indulgence in an act that takes someone from being a mage, hedonist, warmonger, or...(sick I guess?) to being an automatic servant of chaos.

I think it's always been stated that you have to actively pledge allegiance, if not to the god itself by its name, then at least to an icon or the idea of it. I guess knowing it's really a chaos god or not doesn't really matter. The thing is that orks just don't view fighting as anything inherently religious, it's just something they do for fun, so there's not a whole lot of opportunity for them to offer their slaughter up as worship to anything.

If they started worshiping Chaos, they should lose their Orky power of belief. Suddenly finding that their Trukk has become a pile of scrap and Red would no longer go faster etc. They would need to acquire real equipment and the rest of the Orks would be right to shun them as not propa’ Orks.

It would certainly be interesting to see a Waagh! Whose leader was an ork who worshipped chaos, and if his generals were worshippers of Khorne, Slaanesh, Nergal, and Tzeentch. It would be interesting to see a Wyrdboy leader who worshipped Tzeentch, a Mad Dok leader who worshipped Nergal, and a military leader each whose groups worshipped Khorne (obviously) and Slaanesh (revelling in the sensations of slaughter and carnage)

i think the "Waaagh Field" might play a role in daemon possessions as the few examples seen were warbosses but we dont now WHEN the possession happened - they may have been a runt/outcast and encounter the Daemon when they were alone and used the new found power climb the ranks, perhaps each ork joined into the "waaagh Field" strengthens the resistance of each of them like an imperial psychic choir

Silent Sisters can create a reverse Waaagh that kills Orks (The Beast Arises series) Tyranids don't seem to affect it based on the Octarius War and Dawn of War 2. Blackstone is unknown, but I would say yes for now.

I myself wouldn't have thought Vlackstone would effect Orc Waaagh! energy. I might be absolutely wrong about it but I thought the Orc psy powers didn't come from the warp.

IMO orks are well suited to worship Slaanesh for their sake of doing what they like. For example the evil sunz are whole dedicated to speed and making as loud a noise as possible when in combat just as Noise Marines. Or the bad moons with their love to dakkadakka

Finally a video on something proper. Makes a change from the usual nonsense like which primarch had the prettiest hair. I suspect Slannesh doesn't do too bad with orks. They do seem inclined towards obsessions. Kult of Speed and Flash Gitz are prime examples. As are the forced specializations like Mekz and Dokz. Such focus on one subject surely has pathways leading to the realm of the Dark Prince.

Chaos Orks sound like something cool, albeit they'd probably be rare. Also, sounds like Ork freebooterz could be used by the Imperium as an ally, or at least they could be used as a tool, so their own forces don't have to be as damaged as they would if they didn't have them. 13:23 Is it odd that I'm feeling glad for those Orks, as they finally found what they wanted?

I think with all the warp stroms and the rift splitting the galaxy, there could possibly be a large number of worlds with orks on them that cant just leave and are bascily stuck there to either mutate into something else or fall to the clutches of one of the gods.
