Once again, awesome tutorial and huuuuge thanks for that! I especially liked how you used the wheel and the car body to just affect the smoke through a drag force effect. I have a request for a future tutorial and please ignore if it doesn't make sense or takes too much work. You said that 6 hours of final simulation isn't that much. However before you even let it simulate for that long in final resolution you need to be sure everything is working as intended. I find it extremely time cosuming to do all the tests before letting it calculate the final sim. Especially if a certain change/event needs to be tuned in the middle of a longer simulation you still need to let it run from the beginning. I understand that you do the initial development and tests in lower resolution but even then it needs to be high enough to not only look too different and most importantly to not behave different in its physics. I would love to see a video covering that "behind the scenes development workflow" for both a smoke and liquid example. Something like simple timelapse of a whole session which you comment on after. That sort of thing.
@RedefineFX5 жыл бұрын
You need to get a 2nd or even 3rd computer and just let the sims run while you do something else otherwise it'll drive you crazy waiting for everything. I often run the sims 5-10 times in lower-res before I run the high res sim, and even then I might have to re-run it a few times. I have my computers running all the time to get these tutorials out. No magic settings, it just takes time & is a game of patience.

when I use lower cell size to test my smoke everything is awesome ,but reduce the cell size 15 to 8 and go to final render ,smoke ratio its looks too big and too fast What is this problem?😭Hope to get your help
@RedefineFX2 жыл бұрын
the look and behavior of your sim will change when you change the resolution. There's no way around this other than to tweak your settings again to look how you want at the higher res. You can start by lowering the time scale and massive vorticity a bit

Hey thanks for the tutorial, im doing this on a car, but its not emitting since there is little space between the wheel and the car body. If i move it outside the car it starts emitting. Is there any option or value i can turn to fix this?
@RedefineFX4 жыл бұрын
try increasing steps per frame and increasing resolution also. If none of that helps, you might have to move it a bit further away but it shouldn't be visible once there's a ton of smoke around the wheel?

Jesse, I'm about to have a nervous breakdown, I'm on a major time crunch and I can't get this thing to work.
