Chaos rarely ever asked about the outside world because for them it was far more interesting to imagine the possibilities, so them straight up asking Mel what happened to him shows that Chaos REALLY liked Zagreus.

For those that didn't realized it ; Chaos is literally holding his "own previous head/form" ; i think it symbolize the cycle of Life/Death/Rebirth/Change,etc and "killing your old self to change/evolve" symbolized by it being totally different looking than his previous form but still keeping at old part of him with him, while "new born" is spawning out of it. That's my theory. Also for the "Meg looking like part" i believe he actually looks more like his daughter, Nyx. Since, you know, he is her "parent". If i'm correct.

I genuinely don't know how to feel about this Chaos design, because the OG Chaos design was one of the best that Jen Zee has made, so it's nearly impossible to top it without pulling an Aphrodite and making them have the exact same design but in a different pose. But on the other hand, THEY'RE SO HOT

@@ELI-ug4um it's a common misconception that khaos is chaotic as we understand it, but originally it actually meant chaos as in the lack of a known order. Greek khaos was actually more akin to a nothingness.

The new Chaos design looks like it's synonymous to the saying "order in chaos." The old head of Chaos decaying in its hand, an embryonic Chaos sprouting from the head's mouth, and the main body of Chaos is wearing professional attire while witnessing itself change before its own eyes. As much as I liked the old design of Chaos, the new design really captures what Chaos represents as everchanging and formless.

I think the old design was just as cool, but it had a different aesthetic and symbolism. The original was focussed on letting Chaos appear unformed and primordial it put emphasis on how ancient and incomprehensible they are. This new design is focussed on conveing chaos's shifting nature the way they are ever changing, literally reincarnating into something new, they way they hold their previous head is extremely reminiscent of the famous "to be or not to be" scene from Hamlet, very fitting as chaos is well chaotic shifting in and out of being and not being. Both designs are great but for very different reason, i personally prefer the original though, chaoses winding chaotic body was more interesting immagery than the new cleaner look imo, but i like the new one too. Kinda like to think that Chaos's new form hatched from the cosmic egg they gave Zagreous in the first game.

Characters in the game use "them" when referring to Chaos, so that's what most players use as well.

You said it the best, it's beyond human constructs - that includes singular and plural, it's neither a single entity nor several, they just are. It isn't any more accurate than them, they are neither one nor many, neither animate nor inanimate, nor any other dichotomy that would justify using one over the other. The only variant that i would see as justifiable would be to call "it" the abstract concept of chaos and "they" the clearly sentient entity representing it, but those are still the same thing within the lore of the game

Look at the world of Hades- chaos is everywhere. Instead of being something so unknowable, everyone on the planet is essentially surrounded by chaos. It’s a much more realizable thing than before, so Chaos takes a much more knowable approach to their form.

So the new design has some interesting details. Chaos seems to be holding the head, they had in Hades I, with an embryo of sorts floating above it. (Imagery of life and death, reincarnation stuff or something like that). They also look far more let’s say, person adjacent with clothes and all. AND THEY HAVE ONE SINGLE WING! So did Chaos Transform in to some sort of Fury or something similar or did they maybe possess one of the sisters, Meg would be most likely from a design standpoint.

It's early access, not all the art is done. The main opening screen doesn't even have melinoe's hand drawn correctly. Did you play EA for the first game? The quality here is far above that
