Terminators are one of the units I really want to make work, but without substantial support from things like leaders, detachment rules and strats, they don't really do their job. I think one of the better uses is as a bodyguard for a Terminator Sorcerer, so it can stay alive and apply its debuff for longer while also getting more chances at making those 8"+ charges they will inevitably be forced to do. Creations of Bile can help, getting +2" movement now means they move 6" which is starting to become a respectable speed, with access to advance and charge. One of my pet units that I really really like, even if it's not particularly strong, is the 10 man Terminator brick with a Terminator Lord with the Bastion Plate enhancement in Fellhammer Siege-host. You get to blank out one attack's damage per battle round, and you also get to give them FNP 5+ for free with the Lord's ability, making them actually pretty durable. Chewing through 30 wounds on a 2+ 4++ 5+++ with a OPBR damage nullify is starting to be really annoying. Granted, this is not anywhere near as efficient as Deathwing Terminators for example, but it's one way to sort of get that durable infantry wall that slowly advances towards the enemy with the gunline support, Iron Warriors style.

@@Rd0Lg love both ideas, the Fabius Bile detachment I didn’t think of them with +2 movement, that would be really nice 👌

take 10 of them in the fellhammer siege host that 5+ feel no pain makes them real hard to remove. nator brick for the win.

@@michielkreuse610 ye I definitely considered that, I mostly run renegade raiders. The reason for that is assault, -1 AP and the strats are all amazing. I’m 50/50 on putting a 5 man unit in for a deepstrike threat 🤔

Once I have my 3000 point army up and running, I plan on having 3 squads of five. One squad is going in a Land Raider while the other two will be in Deep Strike with my Obliterators and Raptors

I think they're viable with a Lord in COB. CP Hungry (hence Lord), but take a while to kill and have advance and charge which they need. They love most of the COB strats, really. Can also be a viable unit to take the 12" no deep strike bubble enhancement on.

I’ll feel like I might need to try them in CoB … i’m also 50/50 swapping out some stuff in my 2k list and putting a 5man in 🤞

@@BoltgunTactics Definitely need to be 10-man though. Very expensive deathstar, but the strats are very effective and it will kill most things in the game.

One of the first units that come to mind when I picture of the black legion! Classic unit, would you recommend putting them in a land raider for the movement?
@BoltgunTactics5 күн бұрын
@@Mallakai86 land raider is a good option as the tank itself is tough and can hit hard, but it also has the assault ramp so you can disembark and charge. The down side to this is that it increases the cost much more, meaning you may not get the points back from those units. I prefer to rapid ingress them if using or just take two units of legionnaires. Also massively depends what role you want for them and what other units you have. 👌
@Rd0Lg3 күн бұрын
I want to like the Land Raider but it's so bulky that it gets stuck on terrain a lot. Most WTC terrain has maybe one or two lanes that the chassis actually fits through, which leads to it often being more of a problem than an enabler for your units. Terminators are probably better off just advancing up the board or being in deep strike, and if you want a melee hammer to use with a transport, there's a lot of stuff that can be put in a Rhino and staged with like Chosen and Legionnaires.
@BoltgunTactics2 күн бұрын
@@Rd0Lg i agree, I prefer them on foot or in deepstrike. In the UK we use ITC terrain generally and it doesn’t seem to be that much of an issue, but mobility is still not great 👌
