I beat Chaos Wars a few years ago. What you're saying is pretty much how I remember. Fixing the Level Up system would be a good start, but I also find the red bar (HP restored upon next turn) mechanic more frustrating than anything. Late game bosses heal at a ridiculous rate, making the level system even more imbalanced when you're mostly relying on your few strongest units. The actual battle mechanics are solid enough, and I enjoy the characters regardless of how generic they can be. I'd love to see Chaos Wars get a remake addressing all the flaws, but a crossover like this would probably be a nightmare to produce nowadays.

Kyle Sisco Thanks. To be honest though, I really didn't care for Summoner. It was cool that you can get a bunch of diffferent quests, but combat was dull, and those graphics were hideous. Shadow Hearts and Dark Cloud are both excellent though. I have already done a video on Shadow Hearts: Covenant, hope to get around to doing one on Dark Cloud sometime this year.

Yup, that's the actual voices. The audio sounds like a cheap recording on a cellphone because I recorded this by pointing a cheap camera at the screen. This was before I had a capture device.

Just a question Why don't you use the PCSX2 and capture from your pc? you can get a much much better graphics and options overall with this. PS: your capture is very very good giving you are doing it from the TV i think but i was just advising.

My ancient PC would probably blow up if I tried a PS2 emulator. :( I do eventually want to get some kind of capture card when I upgrade to a new computer, it would make things a hell of a lot easier. :)

Everyone bags on the VA on this game but the art is sloppily done. Character illustrations during dialogue scenes looks rushed! Seems like a lot of them look like drafts that somehow devs thought " Eh, good enough"

It is. You can tell that they had a very limited budget for this game. I really wanted to like it since it had Shadow Hearts characters, but it is just plain mediocre.

This is a five year old video I know, but I still have a quick quip and off I go. I was going to go to another video based on content alone. But when I saw the contents of your PS2 memory card, Burnout 3 was up there, and that alone made me stay. By far and wide, the best PS2 game of all time. Even over GTA:SA. Rock on.

The question is though, is the voice acting in this worse than the infamous VO in the original Resident Evil? Other than that it seems okay to me, for a good deal it would be worth getting I think. If anything to laugh at the voices.

Wtf. There is no emotion at all in the voice action. Even un-trained, you should be able to read with emotion, and enthusiasm. It is as if they (the voice actors) are trying on purpose to sabotage the game. Ugh!
