*incoming transport, incoming transport*. Damn the writers made that haunting. Like a real triage warzone. Great work. Sends chills

I think these flashbacks neatly show how Discovery squandered setting up a major war storyline, as there's still a lot of interesting themes to cover that DS9 didn't get around to during the Dominion War. Then again, SNW never had the behind-the-scenes turmoil Discovery season 1 did.

Chapel must've been only 21 or 22 when this war happened. What a baptism of fire for her and a quick promotion as a head nurse. Thank goodness she found a good mentor in Dr M'Benga.

You are assuming the writers know anything about continuity. 😂

@@pferreira1983Field Promotions, Brevet Ranks, and Battlefield Comissions are actual real things. Buck literally explains it to Chapel & the audience. Their was no Head Nurse, he effectively gives her a field promotion by virtue of her experience and his lack of any other more suited candidate among his nursing staff. She could have just as easily lost her rank/title once she was off J'Gal or even after the war or the brass could have determined she could keep it. Happened all the time IRL post-wars.

@@yellowprime8491 In other words the writers have no idea what they're doing. 😂

The flashback sequence in this episode was really good . I love the story between M'Benga and Nurse Chapel . Episode 8 is the underrated episode of this season 🖖🖖🖖.

This is an amazing scene. One thing that struck me though is that they're basically admitting that the transporters make copies when they backup that patient to deal with later. It's all a little chilling.

The only thing missing was the sign and the "Swamp". Welcome to meatball surgery in the 2250's.

So Alvarado was too seriously injured to be moved and M'Benga said to store his pattern in the backlog for later. Later on M'Benga purges the backlog...does that mean Alvarado is dead?
@joekyle65949 ай бұрын
I think so, yeah. IIRC, Alvarado wasn't dead when they stored his pattern in the backlog, but purging it in order to allow for more people to be transported down did kill him.

Hoping someone edits "Suicide is Painless" (M*A*S*H) or "Reflections" (China Beach) or clips of this ep.

We supposed to now accept this is where Capt. Montgomery Scott got the idea? Ugh, revisionist Trek. Why I despised STE. Luckily, I like this series overall.

Well , maybe "Franklin" got the idea from M'Benga. 😆.
@seskalarafey92859 ай бұрын
Not quite right. The Doctor here had used this trick/idea again. So, perhaps it's putting these into Transporter Stasis and the memory banks are limited. Also Barcley want to have a word with you, when he "embrace" these lifeforms inside the Teleport Buffers

Pretty sure anyone who ever operated a transporter for any length of time could’ve come up with this, much less Scotty.
