You don't need to teach a course, you just posted the whole trick. A: Entirety of introductory and final chapters (where the book lays out and repeats its entire argument/purpose) B: Entirely of first and final paragraphs of each intervening chapter C: First and last sentence of each intervening paragraph between those two paragraphs You should always do all three, but if you're really pressed for time, A and B are sufficient. If it's truly the last minute, doing just A will give you a fighting chance.

Wanting desperately to return to a past that never existed is a classic conservative trope, perhaps even the primary one. Well, the slightly smarter ones know that that specific version of the past didn't exist, but they want to invent it nonetheless through policies that would amount to the worst genocides and ethnic cleansings so far in human history. Like, a common sentiment is something like: "Seventy years ago, we weren't so divided and polarized and everything wasn't so political!" while a significant chunk of the population was segregated and women were second-class citizens. The stupid ones literally believe that claim and write West-Wing-esque fanfiction, whereas the slightly smarter ones realize that the only potential method to achieve that would be a white ethnostate. Not that it would even work because the tendencies of capitalism cannot be undone, the cake cannot be unbaked, imperialism and the rate of profit are declining, so tens of millions would be killed for basically nothing.

Even after they have clearly lost the argument they will ignore their own inilectual and moral bankruptcy and carry on as if they didn't hear no bell, or that they won because their opponent was sick of rehashing the same aettled debate for the thousandth time. (ie 2+2=4, just because some idiot wants to debate that for eternity dosen't chance reality. )That refusal to quit the fiel really resonates to people who don't care enough to hear what he's saying but love the tone in which he says it.
