I find that this video shows R&R of both pumps.Now for the meat of the matter. I can hear air being used in the shop. It wouldn't take you a minute to grab the hose and hook up a nozzle and blow all that trash away from the pump.Seeing this, I wouldn't let you near my car.

Dealing with the same issue. Spectra fuel pumps. 1 minute it's working next is low fuel then good. Just warrantiex it out at auto zone and the new one doesn't even read lol. Thinking of getting the mopar brand. Swapping again tomorrow. I know it's not the gauge because was working fine with the mopar part only changed because the pump had crack and leaking. Find out tomorrow.

1 - always blow off and clean around the ring when you're going to remove it " a stray cheerio can really ruin a guys day " 2 - always unhook the negative connection on your battery 3 - never use a screwdriver it's can cause a spark and obviously fire/explosion " they make a tool for this or use a brass punch " 4 - more just info drives side if it's just not starting/pumping. Passengers side if it's registering badly on gauge ... fluctuating ect 5 - tie a string to your passengers side tubes at the driver's side ,pull it thru with string attached ,detach string and tie to new hose ends of passengers side pump and pull back thru from the driver's side ... viola , no fishing in the dark for hoses.😅

Yes. These chargers do have a common issue with the gauge itself not working properly.

You need to diagnose if youre issue is from a failed cluster or a failed fuel level sender. You can use a voltmeter and measure ohms(resistance) as you move the sender up and down to see if there is any change or if the resistance is within spec. On this car all that was needed was a new fuel pump

Worse case scenario the fuel filter clogs which is not likely. Any debri small enough to pass thru a filter and an injector is insignificant compared to the random peices of built-up carbon that occasionally fall into the combustion chamber from the intake manifold.

So it was the secondary pump that failed. So being a dealer you replace both to fix the problem granted it makes sence but not for the pocket of the customer considering the more expensive pump was replaced for no reason.

How so? You can’t just state your opinion and not back it up. Obviously I’ve done this before and I own a mopar. I have been in this situation and if I brought it to the dealer I would had payed twice the amount it cost to simply replace the shit pump myself so it probably stands to reason that I know what I’m talking about but please sir explain why you disagree maybe I’m missing something here and or could stand to Learn something from you. Last I checked I had a good main pump and a bad secondary thus replacing this saved me from having to buy the main more expensive pump and getting by with only the secondary replacement part and not having to pay a left nut to dodge in labor plus parts mark up. Ran 20k miles since no issue no code.

Pep Boys told me that to change the fuel filter, they would have to remove the gas tank (6 hours labor), depending if they were replacing the left or right side. This sounds sketchy to me. What do you think?

Yes, however a bad connection at the cluster can cause this code as well and it does happen often on these chargers

Does this occur if you do not fill the tank all the way? Does the fuel nozzle click off before the tank is filled? Sometimes a problem with the evap system (like a clogged charcoal canister or a stuck closed vent valve) can make pressure or vacuum build up in the tank and make the vehicle stall out. If you decide to replace the pump assemblies on your srt 8, be sure to get the correct parts. There are different assemblies on the driver side depending on the size of the tank.

Question! I have a 2006 Chrysler 300c 5.7L. The car just randomly shuts off when I’m at a red light or a stop sign. Everything electric stays on but just the engine dies. I turn it off then turn it back on and it’s good for maybe 5 minutes and at another stop shuts off again. I get no check engine light nothing. I changed the fuel pump relay, thermostat and coolant temperature sensor to no help. It sometimes surges as well. The last idea I got is one of my fuel pumps is bad. Do you think that could be my issue? Like I said I get no check engine light. It’s like nothings wrong with the car other then it just shutting off when I’m at a stop or red light. Please respond I’m going crazy I’ve been dealing with this all year.

Ok I have an 06 charger RT 5.7L with a fuel delivery problem. I can hear the fuel pump priming up when key in the run position, but there’s no pressure at the fuel rail from my fuel pressure gauge , so I took gauge off ran a piece of hose from outlet feed pipe to fuel rail into a container recycled key and fuel just dribbles out. So bad fuel pump right I replace it left side rear , recycle key still dribbles, so is my problem with right side pump reason why I question it is because right side is just an exchange pump BUT I see it has the top line that’s feeding to the fuel rail BUT the pressure side is coming from the left pump correct?im thinking the pressure line from left to right pump is busted and pressure just bleeding off bacc into tank I’ll pull it tomorrow have you seen this problem before?

Okay, I have a question.... I did this exact same install on my 2010 Dodge Charger, exact same way you did it! And it works, but after a certain amount of time my gas needle will go to empty, and my car will start running rough, like one of the pumps went out or something. Failure to maintain speed, vibrates while driving..... If it sit for a minute, and like cool off or something, when you crank it back up, it runs fine. But after awhile driving it the needle goes to empty, and the car start driving crazy. Does this issue ring a bell to anyone??

I have seen issues with the fuel not transferring from one side of the tank to the other side which results in one side of the tank being full and the other side (that feeds the pump) being empty. Next time you have this problem, pop out both units and compare the fuel levels. Also check the hard lines that go from the passenger side unit to the driver side unit. ALSO, there are two different units available for the driver side, depending on if you have the 18 gallon tank or not.

Lehew Tech I did check, and man I'm having that exact issue you mentioned..... The Driver Side tank will be full to the max, but Passenger Side bone dry. Gas wont transfer from one side to the next. Both pumps work, but one isn't transferring gas and it's causing my car to run real sluggish, and I have no power from a dead stop. Car can't maintain speed it's almost as if one of the pumps is bad or something but they both work..... I'm Completely stomped bc I pulled both tanks, double and tripple checked the install, floats and all, and everything is fine, but the pumps won't transfer fuel evenly ...... Any Ideas on how I can resolve this issue?
