My ex neighbor was a CPA and had a 1987 Grand National that he bought over 30 years ago. Over the years he must have dumped a hundred a fifty thousand bucks in to that car. It ran high tens and could be driven on the street. He won so many plaques and trophies from racing and car shows that his garage walls were covered with them. He and his wife divorced after 52 years of marriage. He had a new girlfriend a week after his divorce was final. I think she was the reason for the divorce. He and his ex wife had to sell everything from house to car. He took the GN to Gateway Custom cars to sell for him and he wanted 65 grand. After almost a year a man in Poland bought the GN for 25 grand and has to be the happiest Pollock in Poland. The new girlfriend didn't last long either. He and his wife didn't talk and pretty much lived separate lives for almost 15 years and just shared a beautiful house together. In the past year this all went down 2019 - 2020. Today he is living off some type of anti depressant that jacks him all up to where he just wants to talk. The grass is never greener on the other side of the hill..

@entropy1563 жыл бұрын
@@jasond1824 it is faster. Objectively. Look at the board. The Hellcat lost this race, but it lost it at the tree. Not to take anything away from that GN....it's a great build done well and driven expertly. And I get it...everybody loves to root for the little guy. But what makes you automatically think the modded street/strip car is the underdog here? Because it's got less cylinders? Well...boost is the substitute for cubic inches. There are plenty of 1000 hp 4 cylinder Hondas out there. Is it a big deal if one beats a bone stock Mustang GT? Of course not. When I see self professed car guys bashing Hellcats, they just look stupid. I don't own one, but my ex did, so I've got plenty of seat time in hers. Hellcats are fucking glorious. Show me another company with the audacity to put 700 hp in a family sedan or sports coupe. Show me another stock, factory vehicle that can take 5 adults and their luggage to Vegas at 200 mph. They do exist, but they're called airplanes. This was a good race between evenly matched cars, judging by the timeslips. One basically stock, the other heavily modded to bring it up to that level of performance It could have gone either way and probably will when the HC driver gets more seat time. So I just don't get all the howling, shit-flinging chimps on here doing a victory dance over a race they weren't in and weren't betting on.

They should have kept Pontiac instead.
@jonathana20793 жыл бұрын
@@richardchristianson2823 I thought they lost their minds during that whole period. Cadillac should have been revamped to compete with Mercedes with a smaller lineup. Pontiac could have been the performance sector. Chevrolet should have become the working man's car like it once was, but they lost their mojo. Buick could have been a premium car like it was in the 1990s, but I still don't see any different of an end for that division.
