A Cook County Corrections staff member or Correctional Officer has brought the weapon into the county jail. The inmate is going to snitch on the staff member eventually so he won't take all the weight. Whoever brought the firearm to him is going to be captured, arrested, and convicted. Bringing dangerous contraband or a weapon into a correctional facility or institution is a felony

I was in CCDOC a few years ago. They put inmates through this high tech scanning machine, that is suppose to detect any drugs or weapons even if they are inside you (anus). I don't think it works though as several inmates still had narcotics with them in the "bullpen" area.
