Charge your GM Vehicle at a Tesla Supercharger: Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | Vortex Plug: amzn.to/3BqgOfl

Nice video. Thanks for making it. Great to see a GM EV get 180kWh on a 400V charger. Welcome to chargers that work. And the port is on one of the two correct locations. You don't need to take 2 spots. Just park between the lines. Why couldn't GM have done the same on all their EV's?

I want the Hummer EV. I hope GM doesn't stop making them before I can figure out how to find $100k.
@KickingTires2 ай бұрын
I'm sure you'll figure it out! I think GMM will make them for a few years.

They're doing low mileage leases for ~$850 a month after like $5K down. Normally I would say to never put money down on a lease but that's really not a bad monthly payment on a vehicle with that level of MSRP. Paying less than $40K over 3 years for a $100K vehicle at a time where it's still a bit questionable to own an EV long term ain't bad

How did you take up 2 parking spots? Your charger port is located at the rear of the driver side which is where it’s supposed be similar to Tesla EVs.
@KickingTires2 ай бұрын
Yeah I realized that later.

Question, did you pre-conditioned the battery before getting to the charger? I just went to a Tesla Charger with the adapter and max I was getting was 54miles/hour. TIA!

I did not... don't judge me.

I heard it was recommended to get the GMC adapter, though to keep the truck safe and prevent an electrical fire….. This may be a decent adapter, but I got a feeling I would want to go out and get the GMC recommended adapter for safety reasons
@KickingTires23 күн бұрын
Yes, you can purchase the GM adapter through your vehicle app if you have a GM EV. That's what I would recommend if you have the option.

We are 72 and we need to stop for BIO breaks well before our Tesla, so even if we had a gassed we’d still be stopping. And Tesla SuperCharger locations have better restroom facilities than any highway rest stops or gas stations.

how long from a 10 % to 100% charge would it take and how much$?

I can't give you a great answer, but I recently charged this Hummer at a 50kw charger from about 20% to 100% and it cost $85.

I've charged Teslas before - I was mostly concerned with the charger allowing a GM product. Tesla chargers are for sure elite. NACS is the best. It might not seem like a big deal, but it's so nice how lightweight they are compared to other charger handles/chords.

My Math is not very strong. but as far as I can see you got almost 80-90 Mile range and spent $25 for this much charging and when you will drive that range will be depleted if I am not wrong to may be 70-75 miles. So how is this economical also you spent 18 minutes to kill the time and spent money to eat as well. please prove my math wrong and show me how they claim that electric vehicle save you money over the period of time? Thank you
@KickingTires2 ай бұрын

@AffableAlpaca2 ай бұрын
Hummer EV isn't an economy vehicle; vast majority of charging occurs at home for much cheaper, especially if you can get a time of use rate plan from your utility.
@jimlamparty35022 ай бұрын
Charge 95% to 98% at home for .12 per kwh so 100kwh is $12 at 3 to 4 miles per kwh that's 300-400 miles. 1000 miles per month is around 50 bucks versus $150 +/- for gas. Zero stops for gas so save 20 minutes of refueling time which will wash with the couple DC fast charge sessions on the rare occasion of long distance travel
