Wanting to throw shit through a TV while listening to Slipknot is understandable. Great video! Psychosocial is a classic

I remember when they started doing teaser pictures for this album with those giant head masks and people got mad because they thought those were the actual masks they were going to be wearing.

5:56 musically, it fits perfectly in key with what's being played. It's all down tuned to drop b and drop a, so it's not something a lot of people who listen to mainstream top 40 are used to. If you can pick up the key in the guitars, you will naturally find where your voice should sit. Again, at the time that this song came out back in 2008 or 2009 (can't remember too lazy to google) metal like this still wasn't nearly as mainstream as it is today. If Alex Terrible released "demolisher" in 2005 it would be completely unlistenable because of how people were consuming metal music at the time. While this song and AHIG were the most commercially successful for slipknot at the time of release, still not a lot of people really listened to anything harder than metallica. They'd hear "enter sandman" today and think it was just as brutal "psychosocial" all because of loud drums, overdrive and distorted guitars, and the vocals sound like someone just yelling at them. Likely where you're coming from is you're not used to the different keys you hear in metal music, but you have enough of a musical background to know "I hear a G, I either move up to A or down to C." To someone who's spent their time in theater classes listening to showtune music, classical, etc, odds are you don't hear music quite like this. What lends so much to the sound and keys are the fact that it's played on distorted dropped tuned guitars with driving fast and hard drums.

The best thing about this band is how you know who's playing the lead. Micks playing is so SHARP and intentional/aggressive.. While Jims so so blues focused, almost calming.

I wish Reactors would do double reactions to songs because both studio and live versions merit reacting to and they would get to see how the concerts fans react to the band(s) live in person.

Yay Charis! The song... eh... highlight was when I thought you said "Toray's voice is incredible" but then I realized you didn't say that. Still, I've decided I will willfully imagine you mention the tangled one every time you says Corey. That really improved things. Two thumbs up!

OK... I'm going to have a legit, normal, comparative musical take. (and I'm sure it's going to piss off most IF NOT ALL Maggots) Ahem When he pops into the Chorus with that loverly clean voice, he has some of the same characteristics of Tomi Joutsen of Amorphis (e.g. The Bee). I'm not sure how to Quantify those similarities...but they are there... undeniably... to me. (straps target on own face and passes out overripe tomatoes to the audience.)
