Dude they have gotten worse over time lol Iowa and self titled when Corey screamed the old way that's their best shit. There was just more of a gritty angry sound back then, they were still hungry too. Not now. They sold out their old sound dude u can't deny it, nobody can. This song almost has that old sound though, just Corey's newer vocal style doesn't hit like the first cpl albums did. Then of course the clean vocals 🤦🏻♂️ But it's working for them to pander to the masses. I am happy though that they're introducing ppl to blast beats lol
@ultralink172 жыл бұрын
@@eatassonthefirstdate That's cuz his older vocals were damaging to his cords, you can tell if you search up him recording vocals for IOWA. The newer ones are much better for long term singing, so be glad he's trying to bring back some of the old sound before.

This album is a breath of fresh air. Self-Titled and Iowa remain as the heaviest, darkest, nastiest, and most sadistic albums known to our community however. This album reminds me of Subliminal Verses and All Hope is Gone.

I totally agree with you, there are too many elements from different parts of all albums, Hive Mind seems to me a typical 5.Gray Chapter song, it's simple, fast, punchy... for example warranty is again too much all hope is gone song, but the whole album reminds me exactly of vol3+ahig but with occasional elements of 5.Gray Chapter

@@thefilmeffect6089 I don't think the two songs are exceptionally similar. They both have great drums and a somewhat similar cadence, but I think the choruses are highly different. The guitar lines in Heirloom are more pronounced and, frankly, awesome, in Heirloom. Heirloom is much more melodic, too. And it's about two minutes shorter. But even if one thinks they're carbon copies, Vendetta is a great song, so it's not a shameful comparison.

It's interesting to see different reactions to this new album. First, you put a positive spin on the lyrics, though I think they're more about how people (especially hiding behind social media) will follow what someone says and adopt it as their own thinking without actually thinking about it. I was watching Ola Englund and his first words were "Man, they're getting softer and softer each album. The line between Slipknot, Stone Sour, and Corey Taylor's solo stuff is blurring" I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong, I just think the difference is interesting. Jim Root was shown in an interview saying they didn't have time to really hash out this album the way they wanted, with time limits on the studio and whatnot. I think it's a total banger. I can't wait for the next album!
@k4m1l832 жыл бұрын
Heard some fans really wasn't happy because of this album. They wanted second Iowa. But Corey said if they would do the same thing all over and over again they wouldn't be in the place they are now. And I totally agree, Slipknot have become my favorite band of all time because they are really unique thanks to the 7 different albums which each one of them has a their own sound and style but we still can recognize it's slipknot. If they didn't do that they would have been just another metal band which doesn't stand out and it's nothing special. But dude there are so maaaaaaany songs you still have to listen from self titled album : Scissors, Purity, Prosthetics, Diluted, Get this, eeyore and from vol 3: blister exists, pulse of the maggots, scream, three nil, opium of the people, the nameless. And some two single ones from All hope is gone album: gemetria, all hope is gone. I really do recommend you to listen to these because tracks because for me they are sooooooo Underrated
