I’ve recently been off sick from work recovering and recently discovered Charles’s videos. You could say I am somewhat addicted to his music now. He comes across as so humble and likeable. A guy that wants to share his passion and talents with the world and it’s so appreciated and the efforts he puts into his content is incredible and cannot be understated. He deserves all the appreciation he’s already gotten, tenfold.

@CharlesBerthoud the sky is the limit and you my friend are a star, keep this up man because you are amazing. My grandma told me bass is just a backing track and that you can't do much on one (I just recently got my first guitar and she thinks I should stick with guitar) and in response to that I pulled up this video and she quickly realized how wrong she was. I love your videos, they always bring a smile to my face :)

@@o.Froggy.obass or guitar they are both great instruments. I play both. But I can tell you there are so many guitar players you will have a hard time finding people to play with. But if you learn to play bass or drums you'll find yourself playing with lots of amazing musicians. I played guitar for 20 years before I picked up the bass. And though I am much better at guitar I regularly get paying gigs with the bass.

Hello Charles. I've been listening to your music and watching your videos all morning. I have to say that i'm simply blown away by the musical talent many musicians have today as opposed to when I started playing guitar 60 years ago.. What I think is the most impressive is how people like you are not prodigies in the sense of you had this gift at 5 years old and by age 6 are performing live on Broadway. Please tell me to shut up if I'm wrong ... but I think through desire and hard work and practice ... lots of it. you have become arguably one the very best bassist of all time. I admire your ability and your selfless attitude in becoming just a phenomenal musician. Nothing but the best for you and your familty.

BUT if you rank them for the "Best Bassist of ALL Time" regardless of genre it would be different: 1) Victor Wooten 2) Marcus Miller 3) Jaco Pastorius 4) Billy Sheehan 5) Charles Berthould 6) Les Claypool 7) John Myung 8) Larry Graham 9) Stanley Clark 10) Flea 😉
