Looking forward to the interview. It's great Coulombe is on board. Knowing Sir Charles's love for the English Stuart king who was a credit to England and to the name he shares with Mr. Coulombe, and in case (unlikely) Sir Charles is unaware of the title, I recommend Anne Ashley Davenport's, *Suspicious Moderate: The Life and Writings of Francis a Sancta Clara (1598-1680)*. Would love to have Sir Charles's thoughts!

I do hope that Steve Skojec is watching this episode. I genuinely think he could find what he didn't find in the Traditionalist movement within the Anglican Patrimony. (if you're reading this Steve--i love you and I'm praying for you. The Ordinariate is great and it is now easier to establish a new Ordinariate group than a Latin Mass, even for cradle Catholics.

@c.s.froggis99822 жыл бұрын
Do the math. African Americans at the time of the War Against the Confederacy represented at most approximately 13%, not all of whom were slaves, reducing the percentage likely at most to 10%. The rest of America was more or lesd all of British or German descent. So for all our ancestors to have been slave owners, you would have to dice each slave into nine pieces. Now, taking into account that most slave owners had more than one slave, indeed the slave owners being only the elite (many British were indentured servants themselves and the newly arrived poor Irish and German of course had no slaves), we really bring the percentage of slaveowners to not ten percent at most, but really closer to one percent! Now, taking into account that many European immigrants arrived after reconstruction and many slaveowning families have since died out, there is indeed in all probability far less than one percent of Anglo or European Americans who could possibly have been slaveowners! (Not to mention that the ancestors of many African Americans today also arrived after reconstruction.) Now, we know, based on historical documents, not least of which the testimony of past slaves, that far from abusing their human property, the vast majority of slaveowners treated their servants as part of the family. So out of the one percent who were likely slave owners, a very small percentage mistreated them. Indeed, the most sacred Bible does not condemn slave owners (only slave traders), but rather to treat their slaves well. Considering most of the country was christian at the time and therefore obliged to obey the Holy Bible, it is very unlikely any good Bible-believing christian would have 1. engaged in the slave trade (being condemned by the Bible) or abused the slaves in their househould (knowing full well the Bible teaches to treat them well). Indeed, by this logic, it stands to reason the only ones who would be so bold as to sell slaves or to mistreat them would have been those practicing the antichrist religion of modern judaism (as claimed by the muslim brotherhood) and the antichrist freemasons (such as the scoundrel usurpers George Washington and Hamilton). And yet, whom does public propaganda extol most? The propaganda is patently false.

Holy Mother Church has always been merciful to heretics returning to her fold
@JJ-is7mn2 жыл бұрын
@@Onepeterfive Letting them keep a deformed latin liturgy that was intentionally protestantized is not mercy it's toleration of an evil. The Sarum rite should have been restored instead as the cranmer mass is an inorganic and illicit liturgical development designed to de catholicise the English. You've read Cranmer's Godly Order and you know this. Restoring Sarum would have implicitly shamed the Novus Ordo which is an even bigger departure from the liturgical traditiona that the cranmer mass which is why they couldn't do it.
@bethanyann10602 жыл бұрын
@@JJ-is7mn If it weren’t for the Ordinariate, I probably wouldn’t be Catholic today. I’m heavily of English and Scottish/Irish Protestant background, which is all I knew. The Ordinariate Mass is beautiful, and it’s nice to feel included in the universal Church.
@CatholicTraditional2 жыл бұрын
@@bethanyann1060 I’m a likely descendant of the British Recusants. The Ordinariate Mass is closer to the Tridentine Mass in English. I know of at least a couple of Anglo-Catholic parishes (Episcopalian) in my region that essentially do the TLM with many parts in English. This is how it was in the 1530’s until Cranmer (via decrees of Edward VI) ruined everything by placing a wooden table in the middle of the sanctuary.
