A touching gesture of solidarity with Japan a mere 15 or so years after the U.S. was at war with them.

明日の千秋楽、そして、オリンピックもこのバージョンだったらいいなあ。何度でもききたいです!

This version of Japanese national anthem should be the default. It's magnificent.

@MuzBuz. Thank you for uploading this excellent video on youtube. As BSO visited Taipei on April 1960, prior to its trip to Japan, I am wondering if there is also a video of Taipei's concert. Thank you so much~

This concert must have taken place after January 1, 1960 but before July 4, 1960. That is when the 50 star flag became the official flag of the United States of America. I say this because the US flag shown hanging on the concert hall only had 49 stars. That flag was the US national flag from July 4, 1959 to July 4, 1960. Amazing coincidence of history!?!?

Interesting! The concert took place on May 4, when the relationship between US and USSR deteriorated and US wanted to develop its relationship with Japan.

@@MuzBuz I believe the reason for the deterioration of relations between the US and the USSR was the downing of a US spy plane three days earlier on May 1, 1960 over russian territory and the political consequences that occurred afterwards between the two nations.
