I owe you a bit of an apology. I just ordered and installed a set of these (in orange, to match the trim color and bartape). But I completely forgot who it was that introduced me to the brand in the first place. It was definitely you and this video that made me take a look and ultimately purchase them. Since I had forgotten, I obviously didn't use the discount, so they had no way of knowing it was your 'referral.' So please, pass this along to them, and thanks for introducing us. I agree, the aesthetics are great, regardless of the gain.

4 watts is an overstatement unless you can hold 1100 watts. Realistically, it's maybe 1 watt of reduced friction (200-250 watts of power). How clean and lubricated your chain is drastically outweighs the pulley wheels' performance. Basically, if changing the pulley wheels gives you 4 watts of savings, you should've just cleaned the 3.5 watts worth of gunk from the old pulley wheels.

@@CharlesOuimet Gonna need more than just one source, especially if that's your one source. Manufacturers are, by and large, the least reputable source for speed data. Often what you see is not what you get, and they never tell the whole story. After a few hundred miles, there's not a single thing you can do to ceramic bearings that will make them run as fast as well maintained, top quality steel bearings with low friction seals. Either replace the whole set of bearings every 200-500 miles, or clean your steel bearings without hammering them into or out of place.

Hi Charles, Guess you were right. Quality control is a serious issue here. I received my OSPW from Nova Ride today, but there were issues. The bigger jockey wheel appears jammed and stops abruptly. And instead of those for Dura Ace that I ordered, they sent me the one for 105. What can I say!!! Not acceptable. Nova ride needs to up their quality control seriously. I don’t want to install an OSPW knowing it is jammed. Though I bought for aesthetics, I still would like it to be freewheeling.
@CharlesOuimet4 жыл бұрын
Hey man!! Really? What's odd. Send them a message i'm sure they fix this. I know someone else who ordered and recieved pretty much the same unit as me, that is working perfectly!
@terthaankardas9874 жыл бұрын
Hi, I did write to them, and this is what they mentioned... “all Bearing are same, Full ceramic 689 sealed one. To fit the wheels, we do not use glue between bearing and wheels. Mounted by pressing. It enable longer life span, and no loose to make shifting very accurate As consequence, tolerance are within 0.02mm during CNC for hole in wheels. it can happen that some wheels spin less at beginning du to internal stress. ( outter ring is Under little pressure to make it hold) All will get to normal after having use the product No worries about quality” What’s your advise? Do you think it’s normal?
@CharlesOuimet4 жыл бұрын
Oh I see. I mean, the original pulley wheel is actually a bushing and not a bearing and doesn't spin at all. So if this doesn't fill like full on friction, it would be better. Try it for a few days/weeks and let me know!
@terthaankardas9874 жыл бұрын
My problems don’t seem to end. Took the bike to local S-Works dealer who tried to fit the OSPW, but failed. The indexing wasn’t helping, gears were slipping and jumping. The mechanics said it appears to a quality control issue. Have informed Nova Ride team, no response yet.

Wow...2 channels I subscribe to covering the same upgrade in the same 24 hour period? Perhaps the universe is trying to tell me something. At least that will be my rationalization. Hi Charles, how’s the OSPW working out? I purchased one from AliExpress a few months ago, it finally arrived and I took it for a ride yesterday. Agree with you, it’s really all about the looks (it looks great 😎), but it will reduce friction, marginally. Marginal Gainz! I opened up the jockey wheels and saw the cheap uncovered bearings. That was expected so I’ve ordered some proper ones. How are yours holding up? Perhaps yours came with covered bearing to start. Mine only set me back $40. Another $5 for good bearings.
