I was just thinking the same. All of the others are, frankly, fucking awful. The worst ever being James Corden, for which I think the entire United Kingdom needs to be brought up on war crimes (and I’m a Brit) for ever letting him happen. But Seth seems vaguely human. He managed to get on alright with these two absolute legends and not come off as the worst kind of Hollywood phoney which I would have expected from the Jimmy contagion for example.

Straight people tend to react that way sometimes cause they are either worried about saying something offensive (if they laugh at the situation) or they just don’t understand gay culture. Well I think the mention of "poof doof" right after "bush doof" while Seth was still mentally processing that came out of left field so he just didn't know what to do with it for a split second. IMHO that is actually a compliment to Seth because he is genuinely interested and engaged enough where you can see he was trying to follow and let everything sink in whereas a lesser interviewer like Colbert would just gloss over it and it would barely register with them

I think the truth is that Troye on his own would not be famous enough (and maybe the majority of his songs not good enough) for him to fill a theatre/stadium, but with Charlie XCX with him, then the appeal is more widespread. I think it just gives more introvert energy than people are used to pop stars having. And people will read into anything not laid out flat haha. That's very normal for gay community celebrity culture imo, but people are used to popular gay media being laid out as energetic and effervescent so maybe they think it's unique. Their personalities are unique I think for pop, so I assume people into popular culture might have certain expectations that are pleasantly not being met, because that always comes with people assuming there's mixed messages.
