Nothing can replace THE MAN on the drums, I worked in London when I was Young 19 year old till I was 22, A girl friend said she had tickets to watch a great band and would I like to go with her to see them, the company I worked for ICT transferred me back to Newcastle and I never saw them! Until they were in Manchester on last tour? 2017. tickets cost arm and a leg, went with my eldest lad he was 31 and he is a drummer, and a good one, rated Charlie as the best, no frills just steady driving beat preferred jazz to rock, I was 74 at the time felt I should see them once before the grim reaper comes to call, worth ever penny. I'll miss ya Charlie you made me laugh watching the antics of the entertainer out front with a wry smile. The Stones will never be the same...but rock on for gods sake,

Similar story - one of my earliest memories is doing the twist to a Stones song in the living room of my parent's first home, I must have been five or six. Always wanted to see them but fate always had other plans and I missed them time after time. 2014 tour and the ticket prices were astronomical but I wasn't going to miss that one if I had to get a bank loan to do it. I was 57, I took my 22 year old son. I told him these guys are legends and they won't be around forever so see them while you can. They put on a tremendous show, worth every penny. We'll miss Charlie.

@@TadekTedWilson74777 So much for Keith for the last 40 years saying, "No Charlie - no Stones"..."Charlie is the Stones..." etc. Their ego over-rides everything. Considering they were the greatest band in the world by far at one time, they've been creatively redundant for years and haven't made a truly great album since Some Girls in 1978 and 2022 marks their 60th year, now is the right time to call it a day and retire...although many say they should've done that in 1990.

I remember seeing The Stones in London on thier '40 Licks' tour. Mick introduced the musicians and the band to the tens of thousands of us watching. He introduced Charlie as 'The Wembley Whammer' and brought him to the front of the stage and gave him the microphone...for a moment poor Charlie looked a little bit lost then put the mic to his mouth and said....."I want to sing a song....but Mick won't let me"...Needless to say Charlie got the biggest cheer and applause I've ever heard in my life. Charlie took a bow as Mick approached laughing and put his round round him before walking back to his drums....absolute legend Mr Watts, may you rock in heaven. God bless you Sir

It’s funny and I know that my younger brother wouldn’t admit it but I influenced him into learning percussion at the Royal Academy of Music in London because being a young hippie in or around 1970 at least someone knew someone else who had either a set of bongos or even a more serious deal playing Congas. And Bill Wyman should have been brought back for more than just two songs. They didn't do a sound check and when you watch, you will wonder if his amp was plugged in. That's especially ironic, as the deciding factor of them hiring him originally was that he brought his own amp amd it was better than anything they had. I do understand that there may have been contractual issues because of Darryl Jones. Still, though, more Bill would have been great.

@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic I think it'd be great if they'd play Wild Horses with photos of Charlie playing on the big screen. Could you imagine the tears? I've seen them 7 times, and this one....it's going to be special.

@@mikekeller225 I went to jail in 1978 because I was testing out "Can You Hear Me Knocking" on my new Bose 901 reflective speakers at 40 watts. My neighbors heard me knock called the cops and after a long story I was off to the slammer. One of many Stones stories for me. Going to miss Charlie.
