@@fuckthepolice.9410 I worked until I saved up to buy a cheap but reliable car and then got a second job. Saved up more and applied to a few jobs that were in better areas and paid better so I could afford to live in that area. I didn't do anything special but worked my way up now I'm going out of state to buy a house within the next year.

Many Black people have very unrealistic views on how to get out the hood. Notice how he asked them “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” They said music and basketball 🏀 for the kids. Black people gotta realize that rap music and sports is not the answer no more. You can also be successful by working a lucrative job. Everyone is not gonna make it as a rapper or ball player. Being police officers, IT tech, truck drivers, firemen or the medical field along with other realistic jobs can help you be successful also. We ain’t gonna get nowhere trying to be entertainers.
@AxelfoleyTheGreat

@wnypaisan27 100% Agreed. Many Black parents are DEAD BROKE and can't take care of themselves but keep having kids they can't take care of. Who in their right mind wants to live in this nonsense? You set your kids up or failure for sure.

We need to glorify black ownership and entrepreneurship along with hard work an no excuses. Take notes from everyone else doing good for themselves. Niggas aint no different. Now that im doing good for myself with kids and a wife he avoids me like the plaugue but gives love to his two fucked up kids he got with another wife. He avoids success like the plague. And my black side of the family thinks im selling drugs when really im just working hard. They just cant seem to grasp the concept of hard work like the rest of us its a shame. @@woodbooger617smitty3 no the government needs to STEP OUT. you cant have a majority BLACK city RUN by a MAJORITY BLACK GOVERNMENT. BLACKS AND DEMOCRATS ARE WAY TOO SOFT ON CRIME. AND WHEN CITIES ARE RUN BY BLACKS AND THEYRE DEMOCRATS THE CITIES ARE TURNED TO SHIT....LOOK AT DETROIT WITH THE STUPID ASS HIP HOP MAYOR AND NEW ORLEANS CHOCOLATE CITY MAYOR....THEYRE BOTH DOING BIDS IN PRISON BECAUSE THEYRE STUFFING THEIR POCKETS BECAUSE THEY DONT KKNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE AFFAIRS OF THE CITY PROPERLY AND ARE NOT USE TO HAVING ACCESS TO SO MUCH. LOOK AT NYC DURING THE KOCH AND DINKINS ERAS, ESPECIALLY DINKINS. NYC WAS SO VILOENT UNTIL IT WASNT FUCKING FUNNY. THEN GULIANI AND BLOOMBERG STEPPED IN. GIULIANI DIDNT ONLY GO AFTER BLACKS, HE WENT AFTER HIS OWN SO CALLED PEOPLE THE ITALIANS AND ORGANIZED CRIME....YOU DIDNT HEAR ONE ITALIAN SAY 'HES GOING AFTER HIS OWN PEOPLE. THEN IN STEPS BLOOMBERG WHO ONLY PAID HIMSELF A DOLLAR A YEAR AS MAYOR AND HE STOPPED A LOT OF BULLSHIT....CHICAGO NEEDS TO DO WHAT NYC DOES ANYTIME CRIME SPIKES IN AN AREA, FLOOD THE AREAS WITH POLICE N FOOT PATROL AND PUT MOBILE COMMAND POSTS IN HIGH CRIME AREAS. SOME AREAS HAD THE CRANE LIKE STUCTURES THAT WENT 30 TO MABE 50 FEET UP AND AT THEAT HEIGH YOU CAN SEE SHIT BLOCKS AWAY. BEING THAT CHICAGO IS RUN BY BLACKS AND DEMOCRATS, THEYLL RESPOND TO BY SAYING ITS COSTS TOO MUCH. SO THE BULLSHITAND KILLING CONTINUES. NOT TO MENTION THEYRE PROBABLY LINING THEIR POCKETS, WHICH IS WHY IT COSTS TOO MUCH. I DONT VOTE ANYMORE AND IF I EVER DO DECIDE TO VOTE, A DEMOCRAT WONT GET MY VOTE JUST BECAUSE THEYRE BLACK OR SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE A D BY THEIR NAME.....AND THIS IS HOW BLACKS VOTE. HEYLL VOTE FOR CANDIDATES SIMPLY BASED ON RACE AND POLITICAL PARTY.....AND THE DEMOCRATS ARE FUCKING SHIT UP....

Come on my Chicago people, I love yall but we have to start making changes for our good to better ourselves. I moved away from Englewood because I've lost 6 family members in one year and that's nothing to be proud of! If we as Chicagoans can make it better and do better we can overcome this. This is painful to see my people going through what they go through in the Southside , Northside and westside.

I was born and raised in the hoods of Chicago. What I did was unplug myself from all the gang and pushers. Started hanging out with an upscale crowd and changed my whole appearance. I always argue with idiots that get offended about other people telling these kids to pick up their pants. They say that it's a style and a black fashion. Once you pick up them pants and change that whole appearance you'll see how quick society accepts you. I now own property and moving to Europe in 2 years to make sure my child doesn't deal with this crap I dealt with. I'm a living proof that change is good.

First. I'm a white dude who isn't qualified to do anything other than express my sincere hope that these young men find success and happiness. Many years ago, I found myself locked up in prison for 51 months for something I didn't even do. It was one of the most enlightening experiences of my life. I was the minority in that situation and I gained much empathy for all my brothers faced with incarceration. I wrote a book entitled: I WENT TO PRISON AND SO SHOULD YOU! The idea or concept is that if you found yourself labeled a convicted felon until the day you die, you might learn to open your heart and mind to the plights of other people. AND STOP BEING SO JUDGEMENTAL. I wish these young men all happiness and success life can offer. If anyone would like free copy of my book, hit me up.

People live in Englewood that go to work and own their homes. Some of the homes are nice and well maintained. The biggest downside to owning a home in Englewood is that you do not bet much equity from it. Real estate values are stagnant and in fact the population of Englewood is shrinking. Crain's Chicago Business did an article about homeowners in Englewood. There are some nice blocks there, but sadly a lot of Englewood is deteriorating. Sadly, I don't see Englewood improving any time soon.

A few years ago I went to Chicago with my family to visit an aunt. We were driving around pretty late one night, and we end up getting up lost. Keep in mind it is about 11:30 at night. As we scanned the unfamiliar area for some idea of where we were, we realized we were in a total shithole. We end up getting pulled over, since we were the only white people with 4 square miles. The cop said “what the hell are you doing here? Don’t you realize your in engelwood!?” He literally escorted us out of the neighborhood because we were lost and scared shitless. Zoltan Olah , sad fact is that it doesn't have to be this way. Yes, it will be hard to change, but anything worthwhile in this world is not easy to do, but it CAN be done, and the results are worth it. People need to get enough fire in their bellies to say "enough is enough." People have lived in these bad neighborhoods, and have bettered themselves and gotten out. It's not easy, but is worth it. And there are others out there who will help. Remember, where there is a will, there is a way.

Moved to 68th block of May (across Racine) West Englewood straight out of HighSchool. Would walk to 63rd St. EL to get to work nights at UPS off Roosevelt. That was always an adventure back in the 90’s. So lucky to be here among the living still.

You certainly can’t judge a book by a cover. I thought “Oh, another wanna be rapper” but went and checked it out and it’s actually really good. One has an OutKast sound.

I'm 37. I've lived on Chicago's South side my entire life. It's unfortunate this video only focuses on bad parts of the city... because we have many beautiful areas. We also have many young progressive blacks working throughout the city. This doom gloom video does not represent the majority of us.

Exactly. I agree with u 100%. I was born and raised in Chicago all my life as well and have seen the beautiful parts of the city. So tired of media and internet steady showing mostly negative images of the city and of the blacks thereof. Many of us are doing positive things there.
