@blazestation4086 ай бұрын
@devilslayer1139 pyramid is when you gradually do sets and increase the weight on each until you hit the top set For example if you bench 100kg max You do Set 1 40kg 10 reps Set 2 60 kg 8reps Set 3 80kg 6 reps Above are warm ups and shouldn't be hard Set 4 100kg aka working set this set needs go to failure or very close to failure minimum 3 reps aim to progress to 6 before going up weight Set 5 this second working set, you pick a weight (60kg) you can just about do close to 15-20 reps to failure If you can't do 20 reps do rest pause meaning do as many reps as you can then rest 10 seconds do few more reps, repeat until you hit 20 reps Once you progress with this weight we're you can do it in one set of 20 in the next session increase the weight slightly and repeat the process Apply this method across all exercises

Well, if you are doing push pull legs and training each body part twice per week, for bodybuilding and to really build muscle and if serious, 3 hours is a bit low especially if you count warm up and time in between sets which should be about 2 minutes ideal. But it depends on if you want to just be “fit” or maintain than it’s a different story. I like Dorian’s approach too as a lot of junk volume is no good at all. I'm rather surprised with his answer on the 10 exercises. IMO, it would be much better to hit more compounds that hit several muscle groups vs the isolation exercises he has in their, ie, db laterals, flyes, pushdowns. I challenge Yates that these 10 would build more muscle for sure, and not meant to be on the same day being these are more challenging: 1 - squat 2 - RDL 3 - pull-ups 4 - barbell row (or deads, or alternate) 5 - bench press 6 - dips 7 - military press 8 - barbell curl 9 - skull crushers 10 - calf raise
@ryansmith79876 ай бұрын
You're literally just rhyming off what every magazine and beginner programme tells you. Think for yourself. Not everyone responds well to the exercises you've listed, if you have the wrong body mechanics they could actually be more detrimental for you. And the fact you think BORs are interchangeable with deads just shows your utter lack of knowledge.
@tankhank75116 ай бұрын
@@ryansmith7987 You're prolly one of the many that base your workout on cables & machines and wonder why you can't break 175 lbs. I put rows as interchangeable with deads since many don't like to do deads. Also being RDL's are in there, the lower back gets a lot of work from that should they choose rows over deads. Nautilus pullovers are great for the lats, but that's all they hit. Rows hit lats, rhomboids, teres major, biceps and lumbar indirectly. Deads hit traps, rhomboids, lats, lumbar, glutes, hams, quads - damn near everything. You really gonna say pullovers are superior to either when limited to 10 movements duh? I've been in the game for 47 years, so thinking for myself comes easy. Fact is, basic compounds builds more muscle period - even a novice knows that. Poor body mechanics for a certain exercise is typically an excuse used by pussies who are scared to squat and/or deadlift. See it all the time - nobody wants to put the hard work in to get massive in this snowflake era. Keep doing your cable flyes and sissy squats.

@dynasty33106 ай бұрын
I think he's talking about high intensity, going all out for 1 min then rest then do that again for 5 reps like on an assault bike then a total of 7 min of "sprinting" is equivalent in VO2 max to a traditional 45 min cardio sesh on treadmill or w/e.

VO2 max is all out working your body to the maximum or above 90% for a short period of seconds with short rest. My favourite is a 4 minute work out of 20 seconds by 10 seconds rest, but it can be 1 minute max with 2 minute rest. This does not just make you perform your work out 100x quicker than the normal steady state cardio work outs when you add the time over the full workout week but more importantly this is a protection of the heart as your heart gets stronger with this kind of short stress. I put 85% of my clients on these programmes. What I find best is to do it before your muscle group workout and pick the VO2/HITT workout that will warm your muscle group that you will do after. 1-Eg rowing machine HIIT workout then train back. 2-battle ropes HIIT then shoulders. 3- kettle bell swings then legs Hope this helps
