I used to think like you, on my no makeup days i don't double cleanse, hence my breakout are getting worse. Since i do double cleanse every single night, it changes my skin tremendously. Just do it, you won't regret it.

I just started using K-beauty about a month ago and can't say enough, I too am Korean, adopted as a baby and was never told about Korean skin care, nor did I ever see my mother do any skin care routine. She only wore lipstick and that was to church. My skin is extremely oily and have huge pores. I love the 5 to 10 plus steps and have adjusted accordingly from am to pm routine. I realize it's never too late to take care of yourself and your skin. Thank you for helping me have the skin I was meant to have.

I am Asian and used to do the 9 step skincare routine. But I dont like the feeling of having a bunch of products on my face, it feels cakey, plus it didnt do much to my skin after 1 year. So now I just do my pretty simple routine. My night time routine: double cleanser, toner, serum (sometimes 2 treatment serums, depending on the situation of the skin), eye cream, moisturiser or face oil (depends on the humidity that night). And it works just fine for me, no need to waste money on so many products 😌 and dont forget spf every day.

Double cleansing clears the skin of oil based impurities and water based impurities. It's also recommended by derms and estheticians

As i’m a korean, and i do very common level of skincare routine, i didn’t put all the skincare routine. I only put 1~2 steps of serum/cream on my skin before going to bed. Sometime i use sheet mask.. But 2 steps of cleansing is important. I always remove my makeup with oil/cream texture remover and then use gel texture facial form cleanser.

PSA if you have seasonal allergies be careful with snail mucin! I have very non reactive not sensitive skin but I have serious seasonal allegies (pollen, grass, ragweed, dust mites,etc). When I tried the cosrx snail mucin essence my eyes swole shut and my sinuses blew up like i had been snorting straight ragweed...was so confused so i started researching. I started out by googling "does snail mucin have pollen in it" LOL. Turns out theres a statistically significant cross allergy between dust mites and snail mucin! Who knew, its not very commonly known I had to dig to find it. The more you know 😀

Payton Konen Hey! Just wanted to follow up on this comment if you still wanted. I have dry and flaky skin during the winter time, and the cleanser used alongside the balm honestly does wonders for my skin. I always make sure to follow up the both of them with a toner, an essence to help my skin retain moisture even better, and a nice hydrating moisturizer. Hope this helps!

For people who say there are cheap alternatives, there sure are but it is not good for your skin. Since I started buying my skin care products from Sokoglam (which is my guilty pleasure as I do not indulge on make-up nor luxury handbags like some women), my skin has truly improved for the better. Why do I say this? People have been asking me how I managed to keep my skin very clear and poreless and bright! They often ask me if I wear make-up which I don’t. The only cosmetic I wear is eyeliner so I won’t look tired.Lol I have encouraged co-workers and friends alike to visit the Sokoglam website. Charlotte should hire me as her PR person because I have managed to encourage other women to visit the website and actually buy and love the products she offers. P. S. Jiliane it is not necessary that you pay 3 times more price to Soko Glam plus the shipping while the same product is available at an ordinary Korean seller at 1/3rd the price which might actually be its actual price with a small profit in it. So this is an advert for her new skincare and Sokoglam which is overpriced and takes advantage of people who don't know any better. You can get an oil cleansing balm like Heimish, Banilla co, Enature for half the price and they have years of reviews and are beloved by many people. Then, there is a facewash. It stays on your skin for a few seconds. A facewash's goal is to remove crap. There are a TON of facewash that are just as good or better that cost less than half the price. Tips: Don't get anything with fragrance in it. It tends to cause irritation and even if your skin is fine with it now, you can develop irritation over time. I just saved you a good 20$. You want to spend your money on serums. They stay on your skin and are concentrated. Serums/ampules (they are mixed these days...names don't mean much in a lot of cases) are the step where you address your skin concerns and where you will get results (if you use something with good ingredients for what you want, clearly)

I don't even use a cleansing balm I just straight up use coconut oil... edit: I don't use coconut oil (or any cleansing oils for that matter) anymore, but to whoever who uses it and it works for them, more power to you.

It's an oil so it will act in much of the same way, right? So I don't see why not when a huge tub of organic coconut oil is 10$-20$ depending on where you are. If anyone is acne-prone, this specific oil COULD (not saying it will) break you out. Working for Hey Hey, Victoria and a ton of other people so why wouldn't it for you? I'm currently using Enature's Moringa balm but it was out of curiosity and it was on sale for less than half the price when I got it. I wouldn't pay its full price (and it's not a lack of money...I prefer to spend it on ampules/serums than flushing it down the sink). When this is close to being done, going back to my old oil unless something on my to-try list is on sale.

@@patrickloiselle3767 I heard the reason why you shouldn't use coconut oil is that pure coconut oil does not have the ability to be emulsified. The cleansing balm/oil is created so to be emulsified, thus ensuring that there will be no oil residue left on your skin after you have washed it with water. Coconut oil, on the other hand, cannot be emulsified, so if your skin is very sensitive or if you do not cleanse your skin thoroughly enough, there is high chance you will get breakout because of it. So technically they don't act the same way, pure coconut oil could work for you but not for the majority of others. But, it's your skin that knows best, stick to what feels right for you :) I suggest the heimish balm, it's a good one. I have repurchased so far probably three times, and have never been disappointed

Maritza because sheet mask will be removed from the face and it then the serums and ampoules will be applied for a better absorption and the main reason that they will stay on your face the whole night. If you put sheet mask at the end, your serum and ampoules don't have time to set in.

A lot of people suggest using essence directly after face wash and then toner and mask, and some suggest using it after the mask like here, I am confused which is a better way or does it make any difference at all?

It depends on the ingredients and if their consistency is thick. For example, there is an antiaging serum that is super lightweight from klairs (blue drop) and they say it works better on bare face. All skincare is about using the lighter products first and combining them well. If you are using actives (acids, vitamin c, retinoids) they have to go on the first steps so they go deep into the skin and work their magic :)

Oh, for the sheet mask, it is better to apply them like she did because it is a super concentrated serum. But, if you want, you can apply a thiner essence/serum first that combine well with the sheet mask ingredients and it works also.
