Something similar did happen, not a terribly long time ago. Woman faked a pregnancy (her husband actually believed it all, despite her being sterilised!) She got all buddy-buddy with a lady who was almost full term and invited herself over. She strangled the pregnant woman, but she was still moving, so she stabbed her to death, cut her belly open and took the baby. The dead woman's mother found her body and said it looked like she'd exploded. Baby-thief took baby home to husband and he believed the child was his and her's. And accepted that she popped into the hospital, had a baby and was discharged next day. Very gullible. They went to a coffee shop with other family members (who also believed her) whereupon she was arrested. Baby was returned to the biological father but will never know their mother. I'll try and find a link. (That may take time, I'm pretty old and technologically challenged). Edit: spelling.

Quick comment on the baby thing, A lot of women who have miscarriages by very realistic baby dolls which can help with the grieving process. A lot of times the dolls stay within miscarriage communities and are sold between women of miscarriages. I’ve never been part of one of those communities but I know about them because I have heard about them and met people who have participated.

Holy shit. My childhood home had a very realistic baby doll in the attic. I never played with it but just knew it was always there. When I was in college I found out my parents had a miscarriage before they had me. And you just made me connect the dots -

The one with the “I asked you out” legit happened to me at university. I made plans with a guy to meet up, but I thought there was going to be a bunch of people. But then somehow it turned into just us having dinner and I was like, oh, so it’s a date then? So I went to dinner with him and it was kinda awkward cuz I wasn’t really interested in him that way. Although he was really sweet because he payed for everything (which is not really common in Sweden where I live, he was from Spain). I was getting anxiety just watching the footage a passenger recorded, and I cried through most of it. I couldn't imagine being there. I'm glad you made it back safe.
