Dog groomer here: According the owners, the dogs DO know how they look. Several of my clients said the dogs looked ashamed and hid after previous bad "haircuts" (mostly shave downs) in the past, but after they came to my salon (I hate shave downs and will only do it if there is no other possible option) and left with about an inch of fur on them they did not hide. :D

A few years ago my kitty cat needed to get shaved (main coon - she had a tick and had notts in her fur) she absolutely loved it. She had some fur covering her feet and the tip of her tail and head. A friend who had a sweet ginger kitty had to get shaved and he was horrified. He would hide under the table and beds. His sister would sit there and sniff him in the first week. I don’t think she recognised him in the first week 😽

He turned around and pretended no one saw.

Oh yeah, dogs leave little doubt when they are feeling anything; happy, sad, embarrassed, whatever. My dog was totally weirded out and embarrassed when strange woman started talking baby talk to him, but 5 minutes later he decided it was funny and was in her lap looking at me with a HUGE grin, like "check this out".
@whyamigae96663 жыл бұрын
My auntie bred dogs, and she had four of her last ones. I don’t remember Peps or Alice, but I know Alice was a show dog, she’d love to just sit on the sofa. Peps was a show dog too, he was used for breeding, he hated being groomed, but being told that he’ll see a woman, he’d stand there. Dennis the second youngest, he was Peps’s child. Dennis was a little shit, he was a month older than me. We grew up as siblings, I was one of the only people he didn’t bite. During grooming he’d always be all lovely until he was done and then he’d just snap and bite the groomers. Dennis was as fat as anything, like me, and honestly I love him. He often stole food of my cousins friends, but he’d always come to me and rub his eyes against me. Sadly he’s dead, like the rest. But my dog Lady, she’s still alive. She’s fourteen. She hates being groomed, and brushed so we just get her shaved down. We were thrown out of every groomers, after my auntie went blind she couldn’t groom her no more. I swear, there was only one groomer she’d behave for, and that groomed quit the shop she was at. It got to the point my mam was chasing down a local groomer who lives in the next street, but the groomer was ignoring our calls, and hiding from us. Long story short we fond the groomer who quit and she opened up her own business, not even five minutes from my house. Lady has always hated other dogs, since we got her from her old home, I couldn’t go out alone with her because if we saw a dog, I’d panic when she would try to attack them. After we found Rachael, we started taking Buddy a family friends dog to the groomers with lady. Both of their little personalities, Lady had to have a operation on the day of buddies grooms obviously we still took Buddy it was on the way to the vets. Would he get out of the car. He usually did no bother. He was the good dog, lady was the little shit. The next time they both went, he went in fine. ALSO BREAKTHROUGH, she and Buddy play together now. All of these dogs have their own personalities. Lady also has a new friend, my dad has three cats *(parents are divorced, my dads a crazy cat man)* he recently rescued a kitten who was being abused. He took her to the same vets as my mam, because my mam and I help him with shopping and other crap. Every time my mam says “Wheres baby Storm?” *(I named the kitten storm, because she came into my dads life like a storm. Running away and hissing and looking like his cat he lost not even a week beforehand.)* lady cries, wags her tail and looks at the front door. In the car she’ll poke her head through the seats to try see Storm. To get her stitches out Lady went, and this bloke had two cat crates, she thought it was Storm and pulled my Mam to go see cats. It’s crazy to see their personalities shine through. Especially when Lady grumbles at me, when I pick her up if she’s in my way or she needs to leave the kitchen when we’re cooking.

My cat is this way. we're pretty sure he's part Maine Coon cause he's huge and very fluffy. He's also very expressive, super smart, and a HUGE baby. He's very particular about his coat, will groom it relentlessly if anyone messes it up, and will roll over and stretch himself out to show off. He also absolutely will not let us brush him, and since his fur is a bit curly, it gets very puffy and frizzy when brushed. This makes him lick at it, and he ends up getting mats. We handle it at home just fine now, my mom holds him and I give him a sort of undercut to get all the mats out and keep it shorter down there. But once when he was younger he had a couple bad ones, so we took him to the vet, and they shaved his ENTIRE underside. Chest, stomach, inner back legs, butt, even up his sides some, way more than they needed to. He. Was. Devastated. No one was allowed to see his stomach, he walked around with his stomach to the floor so we couldn't see, and refused to show his belly until it grew back some. It didn't help that he looked insanely funny so we couldn't help but laugh at him. The weird fur ratio on his legs made him appear super bow-legged, and his stomach looked like a wrinkly old burlap sack. His nickname was changed from "prince puffy pants" to "sir saggy slacks" until his fur grew back.

Some breeders cut off their corgis' tail just to look "cute". Some are born without a tail though. But cutting off the part of dog's spine is horrible. Huh? I read somewhere that when Pembrokes became popular as companion dogs back in the day in the UK, there were taxes on working dogs and docking their tails signified that they *weren't* working dogs, a totally opposite reasoning. Though why a docked dog would be less likely to be a working dog than tailed one is beyond me. And I'm too lazy to study to find out what story is closest to the truth. Yawn.
@ladyhaymaker13843 жыл бұрын
@@jgw5491 that is correct, it was originally because of tax purposes! It had little to do with how it affected their work and more a quick visible indicator for the tax man. CHARLOTTE! I am watching this video right now on my TV. However, I just finished watching your blonde hair experiment from 2019. I have a theory! I think that men see blondes as easy and ditzy - I'm blonde and this has been my experience - while redheads come off as more intellectual and mysterious, therefore intimidating. When I used to go out drinking this seemed to be the treatment that I received as a blonde. Most guys would hit on me with sleazy lines thinking that I would be an easy pickup. Redheads are much less common and a tall, intelligent redhead who is self-employed could definitely be threatening to most men. Just a thought! Sorry this has nothing to do with the current video - I hope you still read this!

Cardigan corgis keep their tails, but Pembroke corgis have their tails docked. They look so cute when they wag their nub.

Is there any particular reason their tails are docked? Or are they naturally docked/tail-less

@@sashkalembowitz203 Breed standards. Not sure of the exact reasons. But they are docked while still puppies. I got a Pembroke at 7 weeks old and he was already docked and it was fully healed. Dobermans are typically docked too.

I was looking for this comment before posting that. Yes pembroke corgis are not supposed to have tails because they were bred to herd cattle and owners didn’t want to risk having their dogs’ tails stepped on because they ride so low. I don’t remember what Cardigan corgis were bred for, but I think it was different. Some pembroke are still born with tails, and they are docked.

corgis usually get their tails docked. we have a corgi, and we got him from a farme, so they had docked his tail. they do it to prevent it from getting caught in fences and getting stomped on because they're bred to herd, buuuuut purs is not herding anything but us lol. he's just adorable. he was also a runt so he just looks like a smaller corgi and we love him.

All the clothes Ive bought off Wish are perfectly usable. I just get a few sizes up as sizing is different in China. Wish gets a bad rep cause people don't read the full title or check the item description ( yes some of the stores offer junk but its a matter of READING the item description and reviews, just like you do on Amazon). Ive had several sweaters, tshirts, pants, pj sets, and skirts for several years and they are all still in perfect shape. no lose threads no holes no rips. and the shirts are WAY softer then the ones I buy in North America. Heck even the shoes I bought lasted longer then the ones I bought at Payless Shoes.

@@to_ru_kw Pembroke’s don’t have surgically docked tails, it’s part of their DNA. The Cardigans do have a tail, however.

@@sharidushane7148 Are you sure? I’m no expert but a quick google search says otherwise. There are countries that ban docking too, so I’m really not sure what’s the right info :( Edit: most articles seem to point that them having no tail is because of docking!
@sharidushane71483 жыл бұрын
@@to_ru_kw While I am not a breeder, nor a Corgi expert, most dogs of any breed are born with some kind of tail. However, the Pembroke's born with a tail are quite short already, unlike say, a Doberman. And as the AKC Standard calls for them to be "tail-less" whatever nub they might have been born with is typically surgically removed between 2-5 days old.
