Be careful to measure and square up your blocks as you go. My charm pack pieces were not exact and I had to start over when things did not line up! Also if you have directional fabric be aware of the flip of the rows!

Another question. In the video you say to qut 2 1/4 inches off, in the instructions it says/shows 2 1/2 inches need to be cut off. Which is it?

Rebecca Calkins They are the same. In the pattern, the instructions show how you can cut 2 1/2" away from each edge of the Charm Box Unit. In the video, as a helpful tip for precise blocks, Kimberly is showing how to measure 2 1/4" away from the edges of the second Charm Pack square, so your blocks are even. You will get the same result whichever way you decide to measure and cut.

Hello Anna! Charm packs do not come pre-washed and Kimberly does not pre-wash her fabric.

I am having a probelm with the math. You have two charm packs. Each charm pack has 42 squares. Out of one charm pack you use 28. 42-28=14. In the directions it says to save the remaining 32 squares. but 42 (for the second charm pack) plus 14 (from the first charm pack) = 56. Where are the other 24 squares used? Could you add another row in the middle?

Thanks for asking!You use a total of 60 squares for the quilt, so you need 2 Charm Packs.From the 2nd Charm Pack, you will only use 18 squares. 18 + 42 = 60.From these 60 squares, you will pull 28 squares for the center. That leaves 32 squares for the outer border.Let us know if you have other questions!

Fat Quarter Shop Thanks! I have re read the instructions and re watched the video, but it was never explained. Now if I wanted to use all 84 squares in the quilt, could I do that? And how would I go about it?

Rebecca Calkins Hi Rebecca, you could try adding another row or two of of the charms to use up more squares. It would make the center bigger and wider, and you would also use more charms in the outer border. We haven't tested making it bigger, so I can't guarantee it will work.
