Well, Sandra (the Elder we see here) was the only Elder living to tell the tale besides Leo, which actually cared for the Charmed Ones. That's why Sandra didn't abandon them during their fight against Zankou. She even looked hurt and being stuck in the middle in the episode in which Piper tells her to get out of the house asap.

I just thought the same thing - however, I think she was sitting there calling for an Elder (a prayer or summoning) its why she wasn't surprised when she appeared and even thanked her. It showed maturity, that Piper realized that her circle is closing - if anyone was going to save her family - it would have to be her, the oldest sister (as Prue was originally).

The last season gets a lot of flack from the fandom but this scene is probably the most important piece of info in the series. The way this elder explains evil’s plan to defeat the power of 3 is chilling and twisted but it makes sense and you get the feeling that Piper knew this all along. It’s actually really messed up when you think about it.

IF the prophecy didn't apply to the Power of 3 and if Prue didn't die, the 4 Halliwell sisters would've been unbeatable. Imagine the firepower and support power they would have at their disposal. With Prue's TK and Piper's molecular acceleration power, and Phoebe's and Paige's support powers added into the mix, I really don't think they would need spells and potions at all.Their invulnerability would also be greatly enhanced to the point where they would just shrug off a fireball from the Source. Piper got blasted by a fireball from him and survived, so imagined four sisters; however, I don't like how Prue's secondary power became astral projection because astral projection falls in the realm of psyche which would be Phoebe's. I would think they would give her the ability to teleport....

Can we stop with who's the most powerful witch? The charmed ones are THE most powerful witches of all time. It's been said the entire series. Even if someone has a more active power than them, they can't just kill them since they're protected by their magic. Even phoebe who basically has no active power can't be killed by an energy ball. It can hurt them but not kill them. And Piper is the most powerful witch of the three. Making her the most powerful witch in the series. Case closed. The only one more powerful than her is Wyatt but the power of three remains the most powerful force ever. Even Wyatt wouldn't stand up against them.

Firstly it is not confirmed who killed the charmed ones in that future . You also have to consider the fact that the sisters would rather die than kill Wyatt. It’s one thing that they are prepared to kill Billy but to kill one of their own like Wyatt, I don’t think they would. They didn’t even want to vanquish Phoebe when she was evil. Lastly, even if Wyatt killed them in that alternative future the charmed ones changed that future into one where they live and grow old. That alone makes them the most powerful witches of all time as they simply survived everything that was thrown at them. Could any other witch survive what they went through? Even Wyatt turned evil and became irreversibly corrupt in that future.

I'm sure Wyatt didn't kill the Charmed Ones in that unaltered future. When Chris came to the past to stop the Titans from killing the Charmed Ones, he said Paige died that day, so I think they were just killed by random demons after having the Power of Three broken.

Additionally, in the future when Wyatt is an adult he would inherit the twice blessed power, allowing him to use the power of three. As it’s suggested in the final episode of the series, that the power of three can now be passed down/used by the sisters children.

This clip reminds me how confusing the whole hierarchy in the Charmed universe is. There are times, especially in earlier seasons, where it's implied that the Elders are basically top-tier, know-everything beings... But apparently there is plenty they don't know and even situations that they didn't foresee. Add in the 'Source of All Evil' seeming relatively easy to defeat (in some instances) compared to some others they've fought, and... Yeah.

It took me FOREVER to figure out who the Elders seemed to be representing in the show, and I think it's the Catholic church. It makes sense because of how rigid and unbending they are about the rules, the way they watch over the affairs of good people, and their choices in who joins them. At the best of times when their system works perfectly you get Elders that are compassionate and wise, but when it's working like it started too in seasons 6 and 7 then you get Gideon and a lot of the other Elders. And I'm not saying this to insult anybody who is Catholic either. I was raised Baptist and my church denomination isn't perfect either.

@Xramen1X Well they do come from a family of witches, but Sandra explained in this episode that their bond as sisters, and their powers make them a bit stronger than your average witch and possibly strong enough to kill the Charmed Ones. I figure, the Triad realized that the bond the Charmed Ones have mean a great deal for their powers and decided to find sisters with an even stronger bond to use to their advantage, and in itself create a faux power of three. That's my thought.

An Elder is simply just a super powerful version of a whitelighter and the Angels of Destiny are above the Elders in the heirarchy so that probably means they were never human at 1 point in time and have been around since the beginning of time, in 1 episode an Angel implied to Piper that their were even higher beings above the Angels maybe a single God or Gods but Phoebe cut her off mid-sentence

Look at Natalie (3x11). Although she wasn't an elder but a whitelighter who supposed to help. Instead: she kept criticizing them, made them steal the crossbow from Eames that rushed all of them into danger and she was extremely against Piper and Leo's wedding. I didn't see much empathy in her and she was a female. I would say women *tend to be* more understanding, but it's not necessarily true. I worked with several jerk, drama queen, bossy, bitchy women who were always talking behind each other's backs, and with males who were generous, helpful and easy-going. That really doesn't depend on gender.

@jdprice455 As they live above "Elder Land" they have alot of advantages, like being above Time and Space, but that has a disadvantage too, they cannot interfere or touch the phase of reality, in other words, they cannot "Exist", they simply reside there and can only rule over Elders, the only place their authority can reach. The last season made zero sense. The writers got lazy and was make up things as they go. It drove me crazy how they kept letting go of the character Leo because it didn’t fit their budget but the producers could afford two new characters christy and billy. And those characters was pointless. It was no need to add them to the show billy was really a drag and her sister got on my last nerves I couldn’t wait for her character ti die lol and billy basically became a babysitter for the sisters at the end. The charmed ones never really needed a fourth person to save innocents
