I mean Martinsville 2010 Hamlin did the same thing, he pit late in the race and fell to the back of the top 10, but since he had new tires, he got up to 4th and with 2 to go Kyle Busch wrecked. So on the restart, since Hamlin was so fast he was able to get around the front three.

They really test the patience of Jimmie Johnson fans. Leads at Darlington and crashes on the last turn of stage 1. Almost wins the pole, loses by 0.009 seconds. Finishes second, gets DQ.

If the same rules package is able to create such a large disparity in racing entertainment between this year's and last year's 600, that sounds like we got a problem with the package. You can't have a racing package be so hit-or-miss like this

I’m legit new to the sport, so be gentle lol. But why did Elliot pit if he was leading with two laps to go? I kind of get the fact that being on new tires is a good thing but he couldn’t hold on to the lead with 2 laps to go? I’m honestly curious.

This. Clean air was king, and tire falloff isn't much (maybe .75 seconds a lap), if this was Darlington, everyone would pit.

Jess Carnes you don’t need to be from Dawsonville to be ticked off and let down. We were are Dover when Chase won. They stayed out and won so I don’t get the strategy last night.

I hope to god that this doesn't get worse for Hendrick Motorsports later on this year. As time goes on, I'm really concerned for Jimmie Johnson since it's his final year and I really hope he can get some wins this year, I also hope that Chase Elliott and William Byron could get a win soon this year. Luckily Alex Bowman has gotten himself a win at Auto Club this year, now we just need these 3 Hendrick drivers to win some races this year. I hope Wednesday's Charlotte race will be good this week.

One reason that Alan pitted Chase at the end of the race was because he left him out in the 3rd stage when evrryone else pitted and he dropped from 3rd place to 20th on the first lap of the restart (so did Keven Harvick)

What a crazy start! Denny Hamlin 8 laps down right off the bat! Chase getting screwed by his teammate! That stupid competition caution! I was scared when they took 30sec to honor the fallen soldiers. I thought most of the cars would have a problem refiring.

Exactly regarding the length and the racing. If the racing was even just decent it would be tolerable that the race was over 4 hours maybe 5. The fact the racing wasn’t there at all last night made it a chore to get thru. Also, I agree on reducing race lengths. In fact I’d rather have reduced a bunch of race lengths before bringing on stages. As long as it’s between 300-400 miles for regular races and time wise over 2 hours but under 3 hours, then it would make things much better regarding bringing new sports fans. Now this does include keeping all the crown jewel events the length they’ve always been (Daytona 500, Coke 600, etc).

There’s only 6 500 mile races not counting the 600. Two of the 500 mile races are at Texas and one of those should definitely be a 400 mile race.

Chase showed he had speed with new tires and he shot up the field. I think once the caution came out he lost no matter what choice was made, but new tires gave him a chance to win if there was a 2nd green white checker.
