@@jonathanfletcher8184 I'm not gonna say that your opinion sucks or anything. Because it is your right to have one. But in my opinion you cant compare WBR to West coast. Chase and his team has given us more content and knowledge this season (and the others) than West coast has given us all there episodes combined. It maybe not for you. If so, you are not forced to watch this. Chase keep going like you are. Love the long episodes with in depth explanations and content! ❤

I’ve done a rebuild on a 2003 Yamaha R1. Full gearbox revision, oil pump (because of all the shredded metal from the old gearbox) and so on a few years back. Also cost me over half the amount of money that the bike cost me. But, it was an awesome experience to see, learn and work so much on the inside of the engine.. I would do it all over again, if only for that magical moment when everything is back together, you turn that key and press the button. It was running so magically smooth, good memories :)

The more WBR I watch the more respect I have for blue collar work. Like shit, I have a bio degree and there really is no difference in complexity between an anatomy & physiology text book and these manuals. Apply the knowledge and you're basically a surgeon. Just working on steel instead of flesh bags.

OC: Roll the dice on a $2,000 used engine. Even if you have to buy 2 of them your still keeping $1,000 in your pocket not including labor or time needed to reassemble the whole thing. You guys are great for putting the time and money in documenting this process so the average person can have an understanding what it actually takes to rebuild a modern engine.

Bike bandit has the same oem system as revzilla, i think they been doing it for a long time to. Also Haynes manual is hands down the best for rebuilds. They break down every single part and have pictures for everything. Sadly they stop making them for the new models but they do have the 2008 cbr one for 30$. Most used engines from a reputable place will do a compression test and test the engine first before selling it, some even come with warranty. I bought one last year from steelescycle1 and I haven’t had any issues so far. Good luck fellas.

OC: if i could build something, hell yeah i wouldn't risk it. But still buying a used engine is still risky. If i could afford it, buy the parts needed, and pay for assembly by someone like Brian. Hey what suggestions would you have for removing a stuck head? I'm trying to rebuild a 1982 cb650sc and I can't get the heads off. I've tried spraying penetrating oil around the gasket, prying it but bent one of the fins a little so stopped, used ratchet straps attached to the handlebar to try and pull it up and I've beat it with a mallet. It hasn't budged. If you have any suggestions please let me know thanks. Love the videos. Eagerly waiting for the 2008 cbr600rr update.

If i need a motor for one of my bikes, i just do a full rebuild. Even if i have to let it sit for a year to gather up all the funds. I would be more happy in the long run. My last cbr1000rr i put 55,000 miles on it from new before i got rid of it to buy my first ZX14. Loved that bike so much i now have a ZX14R second gen. now days i have 4 motorcycles, where when i had my first cbr that was my only motorcycle. So mileage don’t go up as much on them, i usually use my Vulcan 1700 nomad for daily use, those are easy to rebuild, right now she has 30,000 on it, i want to get it over 100k before i rebuild it.

Can you please guys answer one question i can't find answer from anyone. Since you have dismantled oil pump and an expert engine builder you might know. On most modern engines overflow valve directs excess oil to the input of the oil pump instead of pouring it into the sump. My shop mechanic was explaining that it is a wrong design and foamy oil coming from the overflow valve should be going into the sump instead. Is that the case with cbr1000rr oil pump?

so i did make the call to buy a used engine for my duke 125 that had its cranckshaft cut literally in half. i found a basically new engine from a duke 200 for around 800 euros including the neccesarry parts like ecu etc , all went well untill about 5.000 miles down the road when the engine had its left cranckshaft roller bearing destroyed ( a small area of the inside ring of the bearing delaminated which lead to a catastrophic bearing failure , after about 4 months i found the courage to open the engine apart and fixed it for about 100 euros now the engine runs literally like new. i love it but i am going to sell it because i need a bigger bike.
