Picked one of these up. Great addition to when I want to wear a real watch instaded of my Amazfit smart watch. Also allows me to still track when I wear my galaxy watch or one plus watch. I think Amazfit ad better health tracking than the lat 2 mentioned. This is a competitive advantage for them (watch and ring)

If this has better sleep stage tracking than Oura or Whoop then it's a tempting option. Need to wait for more in-depth review.
@ChaseTheSummit4 ай бұрын
It seems very similar in terms of sleep tracking to Oura. In fact the numbers are almost identical every day. Unfortunately I don't have a scientific way to test that and even the most scientific measurement devices are only around 75-80% accurate so anything you find on KZbin likely won't tell the whole story.

I've had, surprisingly, a lot more smart watches than I thought over the past few years. I started with Garmin, moved to Samsung, then back to Garmin, then to Amazift, and now I'm using a Ticwatch. Honestly I would still be wearing my Amazfit T-Rex 2 Ultra if the bottom metal material didn't suddenly start giving me a rash that would cause open wounds. Not sure why it started happening, but by the time it did I was out of the warranty and I didn't bother with contacting support. i just decided to move away from the brand. I'm still seeing what's out there in the ring space and I've considered a few different options. Right now the new Ringconn Gen 2 and Ultrahuman. Main reason I don't want to get a new Aura Ring 4 is the subscription and the fact that without it and app is pretty useless. I also use a CGM and I would like to be able to have the ring, my watch, and my CGM, to collate all information in one place to see everything together.

As always great content and I appreciate what you do. Question for you. I am 40 do strength training 6 days a week, and Muay Thai 4 days a week. I bought both the Amazfit T-Rex 3 and the Garmin Fenix 7X Solar watches. Both are great. I love the Garmin but I also wish it would provide data on mental readiness score and feedback like the Amazfit does. Overall I’ve worn both to test for about 12 days and I’m torn but think I am going to keep the Fenix. I saw this ring and thought it was awesome, and I’m tempted to order it for when I do Muay Thai training and not lose the Mental Readiness insights from the Zepp app. Does Garmin offer any data on mental readiness on the Fenix 7X or the app?

Hope Apple will come out with one so I can get out of Garmin. I still like AW’s smart functionality but it’s a hassle to track my sleep since that means I would need to find time during the day to charge it. If Apple comes out with smart ring I can just throw the AW onto the charger when I go to bed. P.s. Currently it can only act as a sensor within the Zepp app and isn’t recognized as a sensor by other devices or apps. Kind of a bummer, that would be cool and it seems like something they could enable in software… I’ll ask!

amazfit needs to get it's act together, training load and PAI seem to be virtually the same thing, yet it's being reported in two different ways PAI is by far the easiest to understand

I think PAI takes all activity including steps into consideration while training load only takes recorded activities like runs or rides into consideration.
@MAGAted4 ай бұрын
@@ChaseTheSummit yeah, i think your right, but that seems more like a marketing ploy to me, in practice you'd score virtually nothing unless you were deliberately exercising, but i like PAI because it seems to be razor focused on the WHO exercise recommendations, whereas it's difficult to relate training load to them having said all that, i'm reasonably fit, so maybe doing the dishes etc does score highly for unfit people !

And people wonder why Amazon are taking over. It sounds like this is close to as good as other devices, works well with other things in the eco system, provides some stats which other devices don’t, the price is decent and there is no freaking subscription. And this is today. They will probably iterate this faster than most others. As a Garmin user, I don’t want Amazon to win, but I do want Garmin to get their $hit together and innovate/iterate more quickly. A Garmin ring is a no brainer, as others have said. More rapid product innovation cycles in their watches would be good, and some more reasonably pricing would be welcome. Personally I’m not buying this Amazon gear at this point, but for more price conscious users it seems like a good option and I’m sure they will improve these things at pace. So for me the challenge goes out to the incumbent fitness brands - up your game, or Amazon will probably eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner. And quickly.
