the Vermont 100 is the only 100 miler i did in my life, and your video brought back wonderful memories of 1992, when i ran it. There are still the beautiful wide country lanes, the rolling hills, the beautiful houses, the horses, the yellow plates with the arrows and the glow sticks in the night....man that was so great, so hard and so rewarding. To this day it is the best best performance i ever as able to do ...thank you for sharing the race with us and bringing back all those wonderful memories....back then i thought this run would be the start of a long 100 mile running career, but life had other plans with me, and i am grateful for every run i could do and for every run i still can do

Congratulations!! This was the best VT 100 video I've ever seen! I'm GLAD you got caught up and enjoyed the moment, it's well deserved. A studio recap is just fine! The shot and music at 6:27 was the best! I was so excited to see the horses were still running simultaneously! It's one of very few races in the world that still do! My bucket goal is to run the race AND ride the race in back to back years once my horse is old enough.

Congrats! Great achievement! Looks like the night was definitely the hardest. You know what needs to come next right? A video mentioning every single piece of gear you had with you on that race :-)

100 miles solo? That boggles my mind to run that far without pacers and a support team. You are a monster! Well done and thanks for sharing this adventure.

It surprisingly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But I did make LOTS of friends on the trail and shared lots of miles with people. It only got a little weird later in the race when it was dark and I was alone. Fortunately, talking to a GoPro is the next best thing to a human lol.

Dave, you do an incredible job editing a video for a 100 miler. The pace of the video is relaxed, but not too slow. I have my first 100 coming up in Oct, and my only goal is to finish. Congrats on your race!

Nice talking to you at the start line! That was an amazing race and they really make it easy for solo runners with all the aid stations! The funny thing is they lost my dropbag at the Stage Road aid station and I found it a Margaritaville lol! Good work grinding out there!

I'm a 5 time finisher at VT100 with my 5th finish being in 2019 on a day the temps were in the mid to upper 90s. For the record, I was DFL in 2019 but in spite of that, I beat 52% of the field as only 48 % finished that year. Congrats on your 2022 finish. You outdid my best effort at VT which was in 2011 (27 hours) I was there as a volunteer in 2022 after getting hip replacement surgery in May of 2022. Now at age 66, I have serious doubts about ever doing a hundred again. But finishing a hundred any of the 5x was still one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It's an unimaginably long distance to run/walk/travel in 30 hours. You did it. Congratulations.

Thanks for sharing! 5 time is no joke! I was also there in 2019 and unfortunately DNF'd at lillians at Mile 43? I think... It was SO hot that year and it took me weeks to recover from it. Brutal!
