I’m the guy who she gives the fist bump to in the beginning of the video in the office. Taylor is the nicest person and was an awesome director on top of it .

I forgot to mention Taylor's father was the tennis referee in this MV. When you watched Taylor perform at the Artist of the Decade Awards, Taylor's mom, dad, and Selena Gomez (her best friend) were shown in the audience a couple of times.
@Ktcsr17 Жыл бұрын
Ya this is more for the message and the fun of the video! A lot of male reactors get triggered by the video, BUT NOT CHASE! The ref during the tennis part is her dad😆this was done after Taylor’s previous ablums were sold away from her, even after she said she wanted to buy them, so you know it wasn’t about the money! It was about insulting and hurting her! A man named scooter Braun bought the label and therefore owns the originals ( she is not a fan of his). So when she’s peeing on the wall, you see all of her prior albums spray painted on the wall with a sign saying “if found, return to Taylor” and another sign that says no scooters 😂. So that’s also why you see OWNED BY TAYLOR in the credits! There’s so many other Easter eggs in it, which is why the fandom loves it. Not to mention the message behind the lyrics! She called out Leo 😂 anyway, YOURE ON FIRE! I appreciate your reactions! And you are definitely allowed to feel like Lover is the be all, end all if you want cuz a ton of us have tats and have spent all our moneys on this woman cuz her songs are our be all, end all! I’m so excited for the eras tour! SWIFTIES, I’ll be at the opening show next Friday by myself cuz my friends are lame. If anyone else is going to that show, let me know! Maybe we can cheers to our girl! Lol❤️❤️❤️

So yeah, like always, this is absolutely in response to stuff going on in the world. Katy already mentioned some of it, so other stuff that she didn't cover: this was Taylor's directorial debut, and the written, directed, and owned by at the end is a direct dig at Braun. This is the point at which T said that she wasn't going to let anyone else own anything she does ever again, basically. The Wolf of Wall Street look was intentional - that office scene is a near shot-by reaction, and T hired Scorcese's cinematographer to work on the video. The paper in the subway highlights the different ways that the news talks about men vs women - for example, we used to see headlines like the one on the paper ("what man won the year in celebrity dating," but Swift is frequently excoriated by the media for being a "maneater" and serial dater. (As are many other women - Miley Cyrus after her divorce comes to mind. You'd never see a "what woman won the year in celebrity dating!") There's a lot more, but I want to move on to the tennis scene. That in particular was about the different coverage Serena Williams has received compared to men like Roger Federer. In 2018, Serena received multiple code violations at the US Open, including "smashing her racket." Roger Federer is known for screaming at referees, smashing and throwing rackets, and basically doing everything we saw in the video, and getting zero penalties for it. Misogynoir at its finest, and a lot of people think it's important that T included this in the video. Oh, and the bragging about b!tches line? Probably a smack at 'Ye.

This is one of my favorite songs its a message for all the males out there, about inequality between men and women, the fact that men are alright to have no honor and dignity and just f*cking around, people praise them for it, but for women its different, people disrespect them and give them a hard time, they also dont appreciate women's hard work like they do with men, men are okay to brag and be mad, women are not, so basically she is talking about the male privelige, that is taking away women's freedom without being judged for what they do, what they wear, their hard work and success, everything, lots of males would be triggered by it bcz its calling them out for their bullsh!t

I personally don’t take offense to “female” but I understand where women are coming from, just meaning that female describes our ability to carry offspring and not as humans.
@r.katiekane252 Жыл бұрын
The word "female" is problematic, bc it is reductive. You are reducing a woman to the sum total of her biological sex...and while some don't mind that, many of us definitely DO NOT appreciate it. Hope that helps to explain the "why" of our reaction to that particular classification! 😊
@karinakaushal7339 Жыл бұрын
Women usually dont like being referred to as females b/c it feels dehumanizing as the term focuses more on the fact that women can bear offspring, rather than our existence as women. Love ur vid tho just wanted to answer ur question!!
@whomouse7 ай бұрын
True. The rule of thumb is - if you're using "Man/Men", then you use "Woman/Women". Unless you're describing the exact same people as "male" that you'd call "female", you're then dehumanizing them as something lesser or just like you're describing a female animal of some sort, not an actual person. I've only seen women really get mad about it (including myself) in these circumstances, which happen all too often - where someone says "The man and the female" or something similar in the same sentence. Infuriating.

As a disabled woman this song holds 2 different meanings to me 1 being a woman in society and 2 how would life be if I weren’t disabled like when she’s if I were the man I’d be the man but I think like what opportunities I would have if I wasn’t disabled like I had a job interview, and I made it explicitly known that I had epilepsy and cerebral palsy, and they never called me back about whether I got the job or not like they didn’t even have the audacity to say I didn’t get it or like being underestimated because I can’t use half of my body. It’s so frustrating and this song and mean really have helped me.

We know how much you’ve become a swiftie. This last year has been exhausting for the OG’s and the new fans. Hope you’re well buddy boy! Also, I want to point out - you don’t go as deep into the lives of these artists you react to to know pronouns or deeper information. I know you do your reactions with so much love and interest. I think people point out these things is so we don’t see you get “cancelled”. One thing I enjoy watching in your videos is when she puts a HUGE smile on your face 😂 you’re always so fun to watch and I’m so happy to watch your videos this year. Have a good night friend! ❤️

One of my favs of her right know. She was so clever and big doing this videoclip. A humored and sarcastic way to show the male chauvinism of our society and how men behave themselves, while women have to run much harder to achieve the same things. It’s all of this song is about and what would happen if she was a men.

Here’s my idiosyncratic response to female/ woman. 1) I don’t get too upset BUT 2) I just wish people would use grammar properly. I get way more annoyed when people use the word woman as an adjective. (Woman doctor, woman lawyer, etc) NO! That’s when you use female. Woman is a noun. 😂

Props for giving this video its due. A lot of men get triggered as hell because of the very basic stuff she's pointing out. It's weak af. (Although you could argue me complimenting you for this is an example of the extremely low bar we as men have to pass to be considered even slightly progressive, kinda like the dad getting cheered for doing the bare minimum in the video 😅)

Yes 🙌🏽 SAY FEMALE!! I absolutely love TAYLORS CONCEPT and I appreciate her perspective as I can absolutely relate. I’m an older conservative grandma and I support my grand daughter who is also a SWIFTY. I think TAYLOR is an AMAZING ARTIST and she has the ability to switch up genres very smoothly. Some concepts are questionable but I love her artistry and most of her music. She loves her fans, she’s become stronger because of the industry yet she’s relatable. Thanks for sharing your support with this Reaction.
