The Z06 took down the 918, factory driver vs. factory driver VIR, it’s terrifyingly fast, most people don’t have the bolls to drive it at the limit.

Great race footage. The Porsche does accelerate faster, however the Zo6 corners much better. Also the corvette driver is a slightly more experienced driver. Porches are known for handling better than most. It’s nice to see a vette shame them.

Gt2ra does have better handling. Just this one is running either old tires or the driver turn off tc.

Great driving by both drivers! Do they know each other? seemed more like a race than an HPDE day. lol Nice video. The Porsche seemed a little more twitchy than I'd have expected.

Not great driving from the 2RS. The video is titled "chasing Porsche GT2RS" but it should correctly be titled "held up at every turn by a Porsche GT2RS"

@@rleader1 Maybe so, but the wrong friend was leading. 2RS missed many an apex, braked early (and too much) in spots and struggled to keep traction. They would have benefited from following the Vette here (but then we wouldn't have had the video unless they posted it, I suppose!)

It was all stock with factory OEM CUP 2 tires and track alignment

this is a driver with limited experience in the GT2 and maybe no experience at Sonoma. they had severe problems with that car's oversteer which means they had not driven it much before this. it's a good case example in why amateur drivers (like me) should start with a slow car.

honestly, the GT2 driver wasn't very good. I'm a crappy driver and I can see his mistakes. The GT2 is faster than the Z06 on paper, but this came down to driver skill. Oh, and I do have a C7 Z and probablly couldn't do much better than the guy in the Porsche. I admit it.

You should probably turn in earlier at turn 3. You would have a better angel for both turn 3 and 3A, thus faster speed

Wow, really surprised to see the Porsche out accelerate the Vette and the Vette out handle the Porsche. I was expecting the opposite. Also, the vette stays in 3rd too long and seldom downshift to 2nd, asking the motor to pull from as low as 50 to 120mph, it makes plenty of power but this was another observation.

I dont know the specifics on which GT2 this is, but power cant be too off. Also, the GT2 wieghs less, has a PDK and with a rear engine can put the power down better than the vette with only a rear transmission. Now, put the C8Z against it, it would do even better, especially against the driver of the GT2. This guy needs some lessons.
