I love the mix here. We're all here for the fitting videos and the gear head conversations, but mixing in a course vlog every once in a while is refreshing.

Don’t know about where you are but during our golf season, the overwhelming majority of golfers on my home courses, we are in Colorado and BigSky, MT, are >50 years of age. In that age group, YT is just not very prevalent. YT viewership is more commonly 20-30 age group and at least here there’s just not a lot of golfers in the group. My son is 33, he plays when I fly down to Houston to see him but he rarely plays when I’m not there and I know his YT content he views is not golf related.

It’s not an easy market to grow in unless you lean more towards entertainment like Good Good, ForePlay, Bob Does Sports etc. Club reviews and deep golf talk grow slowly. Rick is an exception to that rule. But look at Mark Crossfield. He has been doing it longer than Rick Shiels yet his subscriber count has stayed around 400k for several years now.

Great series here! I just started the SuperSpeed training this week after watching your recent video at the SS HQ in Utah. Starting at 98 mph with a goal of 110 mph. Will still focus on 30 yards to 155 yards to keep bringing the handicap down. Thanks for the inspiration!💪🏻
@dabdias11 ай бұрын
Nicely played, but there’s definitely some room for better strategy choices. You mentioned Scott Fawcett (DECADE), and I think you could benefit a good amount from reviewing his stuff. Hole #2 hits basically 3 points on the Tiger 5 - bogey or worse with 9 iron in hand, double bogey, and 3 putts! First mistake was target choice from fairway; second mistake was taking too much risk with chip shot (lucky outcome); third mistake was trying to hard to make the putt which opened the door for 3 putts. I think you may also want to take a look at tee club selection, just a suggestion. In any case, very nicely played.

by far my favourite pieces of content, always interesting to see the distances knowing what's in the tank. after the SuperSpeed video and how they mentioned distance SG gain can offset the offline SG loss, I'd be curious to see a round where you really max out and see how scoring is impacted

I went from a 10 handicap to a 4.8 by the end of September, shooting my best round ever 73 TWICE in 7 days. I went 73-79-73 in competitions. My goal for this year is to increase my work ethic, really grind the scores down to below-par, and win my club championship in August. No easy feat at my club; the past several years out champion has been Charlie Kennerly who is friends with, and played college golf with Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris. He doesn’t play in the club championship any more, but we also have Peter Knade (current Korn Ferry player, who qualified for 2 PGA events last season too) at our club too. Pretty tough competition. I need to iron out a few parts of my bag, I have big gaps in my irons, and my 3 wood needs replacing. I have a full bag fitting scheduled at Club Champion on 12/29, so we will see how it shapes up!

Great video, I enjoyed it very much, kind of jealous, Here I'm stuck here in Nova Scotia in -18 degree weather, but it was nice and green where you were. I've played that coarse, very nice coarse. Good luck on the back nine, slow down and pick up on your speed putting. See Ya!

Kind of curious, what do you personally do for alignment? Do you typically see your target and hit it, or do you think especially for low handicappers finding an intermediate target to where you are aiming can help with the alignment of where you hit your shot?😊

Hi Ian i am a 65 year old 12 handicap three times a week golfer,I love the channel but always wonder why you dont walk your course! It seems that the people using biggies on my home course are younger people ,why?
@kevinoneill217011 ай бұрын
Some courses here in the US require that everyone drive in a cart (aka buggie), especially if the course has a lot of elevation change up and down and/or if they have long distances between greens and tee boxes. Some courses are really spread out and can sometimes have distances between greens and the next tee box of 100m, 500m, or even longer. The course they're at is in Del Mar near San Diego, California, with a lot of elevation change. Their website says the greens fees come with complimentary golf cart (w/ GPS) and a forecaddie for each group.
@ianfrasergolf11 ай бұрын
I prefer to walk but it’s very difficult to film these on course videos and walk. We can make up a lot time in between shots with the carts.
