Those fish are ridiculous. Having a boat and motor towing them out of the weeds so you can fight and land them is nuts. I am glad it is so hard to get to that fishery, it might survive for quite a while!

Can we get a link to the guide service you're using in the video. If you had known it was going to be that easy to catch so many arapaima you could have tried going for some golden Dorado and something else to create some kinda Bolivia slam. Absolutely crazy how easy this is making it seem to catch these fish, because I can personally attest to how hard it is, I have only taken trips to french Guiana but I've caught 4 arapaima , 3 on live bait 1 on lure. But I have also caught an additional 3 on the fly rod using patterns I tied myself. The last one i caught on a traditional fly that is made out of a local grass. I just bought my sailboat that im living on down here in florida currently in key largo and I'm planning on fishing my way through the Caribbean and then heading down south America until I feel like sailing somewhere else
