So enjoying your visit with fellow Chateau revivalist! What a beautiful estate and grateful for the likes of you guys with the insight, enthusiasm, passion and the much needed means to save these grand architectural, agriculturally working treasures! I could watch and listen to your friend here for hours, he reminds me of a mad scientist/artist that’s driven solely by his passion/need/MUST to create. It’s very obvious he, like yourself absolutely breath the passion of the revival! What a breath of fresh air to watch! Thank you for sharing!!!

You're a good man, Phil! Nice of you to take Michael to Lalande. I think there's possibly one of his fabulous dinners coming your way from him at some point. So sorry about all the damage to your chateau. The painting is beautiful, Angelina. Take care both of you. 😘🥰

You did a nice job of photographing LaLande in a way that gives us a fresh perspective of the beauty of the decor there and layout of the rooms. Seeing the paintings of Stephanie’s father along the corridors is something I haven’t seen before. What a great idea to do your vlog while helping Michael get there! Everyone wins! Cheers! Your chateau’s freshly painted room in process was a nice link as you arrived home! 🙏🥰👍😊👩🎨❤️

Angelina, the crisp white trim looks amazing! I too have white trim around my windows and have a similar contrast of a duller white on the actual window itself. It doesn't matter....it looks amazing!!! Good job, and can't wait to see the finished result. You two are almost there! and are doing a wonderful job!

I love your creativity as you do your renovations. I am always doing something with our own home. I am an artist and I can't stop doing new things. We are using the winter months here in California to redesign our back yard and pool area. You give me such inspiration. One day I may just decide to sell it all and come to France. I love the sense of community you have all created. Keep up the great work.

🌞 Hi Phil and Angelina ❤️ Important health info. Beautiful day in the Sunshine State of Florida. Hope your day is beautiful. We see you're trying to dry up some walls that has a lot of moisture and when there's a lot of moisture for a long long time, there is always mold behind the moisture. The front of the wood or the top of the wood you're trying to dry, can get dry in front, but not the back. The best way to find out, is that you must cut out a piece of the wood where you see a lot of dark and dampness to find out what is behind the board. If you dry the front and cover it up not knowing what's going on behind, then the mold will continue to grow inside and will be absorbed with heaters and ac units which will smell in the air and you guys will breath it in and cause a lot of health issues and you don't want any problems with your lungs in the future and the doctors can't figure it out. Also on your flooring, if there was any moisture that got into the wood, then the mold has already grown in the cracks and under the wood. Sanding can take out a little bit on top, but the only way to find out of the mold has gone into the wood is to take out a piece of the wood and put a new piece of wood in the area that got wet and try to stain the wood the same color as the area that didn't get wet. Some people don't smell mold and some people can smell it instantly. Just wanted you to know you should check under before you cover up any wet, damp areas, as mold grows everywhere if it's not removed completely. Mold loves wood, that goes for any wood furniture, so it has to be removed so it doesn't go on everything. So please read this message twice for your health. Cheers to your chateau! 🎅⛄

I painted a bathroom yellow, but ran out and still needing one small wall painted so I painted it white. Then I painted the cabinet and toilet paper holder white. It was a small room without a window. It had been painted very dark green and very dark brown. Even with both lights on you still couldn't see anything in there. As so as I painted it you didn't even need to turn on the lights because the light from the bedroom was enough for you to see everything.

You should consider painting the window surrounds white too. I don't know the word, but the part from the trim, to the window? Just because it would reflect more light into the room, and also be in keeping with a more traditional look 🙂 I can see, there are two windows, where it is stone, so of course, leave that, but I think I would paint the others 🙂
@ChateauLife3 жыл бұрын
The window reveal! Yeah we did think of that and it’s a great idea but we have some surprise ideas coming up for the walls which will make sense when revealed why we didn’t

As beautiful as the room is going to be, it would be impossible to feel any type of depression in it lol. And if you are planning to trim it out in gold at some point, that room would glow even more! I think the gold color Stephanie used in her entrance hall was one that Michael had recommended. At one point, I'd looked it up on the internet but they weren't shipping to the US. Through video, it appeared to be a perfect french gold color.

Each Chateau is so beautiful and has so much character. I see the dehumidifier is still working hard. What type of barrier will you be putting up to prevent future damage of panels from the damp? I am in Canada so our construction here is very different and not as old. But the century homes often have damp problem in the basements because the foundation were often constructed with stone and rock.
