High school sweethearts, Jordan & Milena Ciciotti are joining us today! They got married in June 2017 and have 3 little bundles of joy earth-side, one in heaven and one on the way. Originally Milena went to college to study early childhood development, but her plans drastically changed when God opened the door for her KZbin channel to grow! Jordan and Milena also host a podcast together called As For Me and My House, where they go into greater detail about life, marriage, and parenting through a biblical worldview. They are both unashamed, Bible-believing followers of Jesus. They believe God's Word is sufficient for all instruction for living a life pleasing to God.

Amen! One of the first things the LORD put on my heart after He baptized me in His spirit was trusting Him with our family and it's growth! We have had 5 miscarriages over the years, but we will be welcoming our 10th child earth side in a few months time! So thankful for what the LORD has done in our lives! LORD Jesus we ask that all these little ones you have entrusted us with will live for your glory! 🥰 PS: I am 40 years old now and life has never been better. Our marriage grows more beautiful as time goes on! He is soooooo Good! PPS: Our eldest is 21 years old, our 2nd 15 (6 year gap between our first two children before encountering Christ), the rest are about 15-18 months apart....and, my husband and I have more time together than we ever have! Our kiddos bless us so much! Date night every Sunday! 💓 ❤😊

Two things: What is the deal with the bitterness, resentment, and offense with "purity culture "? Also, I used to talk about Technical Virgins. Most people who claim virginity on their wedding night are Technical Virgins. They haven't had intercourse, but they are not virgins. They've done all the things except intercourse and then proudly say they were virgins. Virginity means untouched. Foreplay, heavy makeout and feeling up sessions, and oral sex don't qualify. All this not to shame anyone. I'm just as guilty. But there's a lack of honesty with ourselves and others that doesn't help other young couples to be actually pure and actually abstain. This is made worse by Christians telling each other to find the line to figure out for themselves how far they can go. Last I checked, normal men are ready for intercourse in .02 seconds, which means being all over each other, especially in private, is out of the question. Also, parents are so fixated on education(and frankly look the other way concerning their children's sexual involvement during high school and college), people date through high school and college. The stats on staying pure for years on end are probably not good. I'm just saying we need to prioritize purity over education and actually be honest about our actual virginity status.

I just recalled when I started observing this lack of forthrightness. I assumed our mentors were virgins when they married. I asked one of them," How did you guys make it? How did you stay pure?" He replied, "We have a sordid past." It made me so frustrated because people were not being honest with themselves about their failures, getting healed, and thus were not helping teens and young adults to succeed in this area. People need to deal with their pasts so they don't whitewash their history and fail to be a real source of teaching and encouragement for dating couples. I don't know if Jordan and Milena or Elisha and Katie fall into the actual virginity category or the technical virgin category, but maybe they'll get really straight up frank about it at some point.

The conversation on purity and virginity can devolve into extreme legalism to the point where being "pure" is seen as more important than extending grace and forgiveness (not very Christian). This is especially harmful to people who have been pressured into situations they weren't ready for and even victims of abuse. There's nothing wrong with teaching sexual morality. There is something wrong with teaching vulnerable teenagers that they aren't pure enough because they've made out with people.

I was part of a small pack of teens that wore promise rings and just didn't do everything 😅or anything more like in school ...and in the Army even, that is a tiny, rare group, and then in college and after. I feel like I have found my tribe. However, I am in my 50s. 😂

This is interesting, sharing how you have decided to trust the Lord with the number of children, etc. but what is the why behind that? Greater chance of leaving a family legacy?

I don't know how the Ciciottis would articulate this, but here's my perspective. Catholics call it being "open to life". Historically, both Catholics and Protestants were opposed to birth control. They believed creating life was God's domain/prerogative. They believed in the command to be fruitful and multiply. They believed in the scriptural principle that God opens and closes the womb. Then the condom and later the pill came along and we chucked all that for pragmatism, "common sense", selfishness, and our own wills to decide they'd been wrong and birth control was fine for the Christian. At least, these are the things I learned when feeling convicted about both condoms and the pill. We chose natural family planning, but now I feel that was maybe still too much control on our part.

Be fruitful and multiply didn't put in a number amount. Also Onan in the bible was the only example of birth control given and he was killed by the Lord.

What would you do if you both have to work full time and cant afford to put all your kids in daycare? Or the wife is the bread winner so cant be a stay at home mom? God has recently shifted my heart and put a desire in my heart to have more kids after thinking i was for sure done after our 2nd. But my husband is not on board..and we cant affoed to put our 2nd in daycare too (i work from home so hes home with me) so i dont see how its possible to have anymore kids. But im also confused why the Lord would be tranforming my heart snd giving me the desire to have more chuldren if it doesnt seem possible due to working/finances/husband def not on the same page.

I appreciate you but I can't help but wonder: if every family on earth multiplied limitlessly, at some point, some resources of the earth like place or food would get to its limit and we would be in great trouble, right?

The fact is, murders will still happen. Suicides and all the other unfortunate ways people pass, which we have no control over. And even then, God provides. If God’s intention is for their to be a fruitful multiplication of the people, it is because he will provide for that number.

I wonder why so many KZbin channels refer to listeners as “you guys”. To me it feels overly informal. Plus you guys is usually so regional - typically midwestern. “You all” (not y’all, the Southern plural of you) is a bit more formal, like Ustedes in Spanish. I suppose you may think of your listeners as your friends, and v.v. But some of us are passing by. Lastly, and I bet this may be anathema to your channel and other similar channels, but your listeners aren’t all guys. Thank you for reading and pondering my thoughts.
