I feel like Vergil would have one cause his sword can cut through anything but will struggle if the user is exhausted. Hence why it couldn't cut through Lady's rocket launcher as explained by Jester literally a few seconds further into the scene.

Boi69 They may have explained it, but it was a. A scam or b. Ignorance because they're are different kinds of healing factors and Seph has the weakest kind. The three are direct genetic healing like Dante, Vergil, Wolverine, Deadpool, etc. The second is stealing someone else's health or having someone give you their stuff like Raiden taking electrolytes or Naruto relying on his demon fox (interesting note is both these characters also have option a. but it's not as good so they use option b). Than C is use your magic which usually doesn't heal fatal wounds and also uses up your own reserves.

Feel like I need to clear some things up. Since Dissidia is canon Sephiroth CAN use Supernova whenever he wants he doesn't need to use the life streams power like in 7 or be in his final form. Sephiroth is a master of illusion which Virgil is extremely sussceptable to as its shown in the games and manga many times. Vergil and Dantes healing factor is not infinite otherwise theyd never lose but they have lost multiple times where as Sephiroths healing IS infinite and via illusions and deception he can make use of and wear Virgil down over time which is what they explained. Vergil and Dante are not the walking indestructable machines people think they are. They have lost and been beaten, a lot and Sephiroth has the power and abilities to win. People saying Vergil can just dodge everything forever doesn't understand having to dodge someone like sephiroth constantly uses up energy and stamina. While Vergil has tons of it its not infinite where as Sephiroths regenerative magic is. Sephiroth will never tire where as Vergil eventually will. Sephiroth can play the long game against Vergil eventually diminishing his ability to both heal,dodge and fight. Also at no point in DMC lore is it said Rebellion is indestructable its just magic which is why Yamato cannot cut through it. You also have to take into account the merging of two different worlds, Sephiroths own sword is also magic and given its owner its not hard to say Yamato would be incapable of cutting through it. In addition Yamatos power also weakens as its owner does so yes at first Vergil could probably cut his way out of Supernovas dimension but given what I've said already -eventually- he would not have the strength to. While the battle is written in such a way to save time, Sephiroth would come out the victor in the long game.

Another thing is Vergil's healing has its limits in his human form sure (and by limits I mean that he can definitely be worn down but he has never suffered a fatal hit due to the following reasons. Key example is in DMC3 when Vergil beats Dante's ass like Vergil is his daddy kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpTdm4ytbLV2mJYm13s also here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnjNY6WvnMaoidkm10s, even if Vergil stays in his human form and whilst allowing himself to take a beat down to the point of 'death', the way Dante did here, due to their demonic heritage they just take a chill and get back up), with DT active his healing is instantaneous also another well overlooked aspect here is Vergil's Nelo Angelo side. DT in short is an ability which is a special power possessed by demons and demonic hybrids which allows them to release their full supernatural potential. While in Devil Trigger, the user will assume their true form. In this form, many of the character's physical and magical attributes are amplified, and the character may have access to upgrades or even additions to their normal abilities like flying or hovering. However it is still just a form of their supernatural potential for half demons such as Dante and Vergil. Now here's where Vergil is different to Dante, whilst he has DT, he is also Nelo Angelo and "as Nelo Angelo, Vergil only depends on fighting battles to finish the work. While also becoming fully demonic , he will only make dark chuckles instead of commenting on his foes' own efforts to beat him. " you forgot to factor that in, as a full demon, Vergil's power takes a new level, especially his healing prowess. Then there is the fact of Vergil's Dark Slayer fighting style (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ67mYKHnLyte8k ), "The style itself performs much like Dante's Trickster Style.[9] In Devil May Cry 4, Dante obtains this style after receiving Yamato, but instead of being based on teleportation " and "Vergil possesses the blood of Sparda in his veins. Lance Mac Donald Im not fully adept in either FF or DMC, but from your explanation, it sounds like you just added alot of "he is immortal" and "his sword can only cut thru anything, when he uses a skill". Him being immortal doesnt matter in a Death Battle, as they have stated (by immortal im speaking about his apparent infinite healing factor that u claim he has). If he needs to take a break or watever, that counts as a loss in a Death Battle, otherwise it would be pointless to go against characters like Wolverine or Doomsday. And as far as his sword, as you just said yourself, his sword only is able to cut thru anything if he uses the skill with it. That "Judgment Cut" or watever move you said that Dante could not perfect in order to slice a hell gate. So that also seems pointless in this argument since that would mean that it would be more correct to say that the SKILL can cut thru anything, not the sword. Also, if the sword was sharp enough to cut thru anything at anytime, it wouldnt matter if he used alot, or a little of force in a swing, it would still be able to cut the rocket launcher. And if you say that "the force behind a sword determines its strength" then we would then have to determine how much force it would take to break Seph's sword and then see if Vergil could exert that strength right? And, again im not FULLY adept in either game, but im pretty sure Seph's sword has never been broken or damaged. So, Vergil sword cant cut thru anything, and he cant exert enough force to break Seph's sword, so that would mean Vergil can not break his sword unless he used that specific hell gate slicing skill. And thats just assuming that Seph's sword isnt similar to ANY of the other swords Vergil has failed to cut

I appreciate the civil arguments you have presented, its rare to find that when talking about death battles. Now you mention regeneration in Devil Trigger which is true but you have to understand he can't keep devil trigger up indefinetly and as I said Sephiroth would be playing the long game once he realizes he can;t just outright kill Vergil. Vergil is very susceptible to illusions, its shown in the games and manga many times and Sephiroth could use this to wear him down. Now its never shown just how many different types of illusions sephiroth has but given he can create entireley fake scenrios its not hard to say he has a huge depth of illusions. For example creating an illusion of say Dante was the one who killed their mother. Now obviously Vergil knows he didn't but thats the power of Sephiroths illusions he makes it feel real and this would be enough to demoralize Vergil and put him in a very vulnerable place especially if he started fighting with the illusion dante and in turn started using up his reserves. I'm willing to concede Vergil would beat Sephiroth in a straight up slugfest more than likley but DB are supposed to take into account every scenerio and Sephiroth is smart enough to know when he needs to be deceptive not brutish. Given its shown Sephiroth can keep multiple illusions up at once he could easily keep Vergil in an illusion occupied enough while setting up a supernova to the point its too late for vergil to escape, eventually. Also Im not sure I made the point well enough but you have to take into account the merging of totally different worlds. Yes Yamato can cut through anything, in the DMC universe.. In Sephiroths world though his sword isn't "just a sword." Its been infused with materia and the lifestream so its very much a magical and very powerful weapon so its not easy enough to say 100% Yamato could cut through it. Lets say it could though for the sake of argument and it cut through on the first sswing. Sephiroth still is a master of magic and a literal infinite reserve which would be enough to keep Vergil at bay for the moments it takes to start the illusions. While I ,again, concede Vergil would most likley win in a straight up sword fight and show of physical power that is not all Sephiroth is about and given Vergils shown trauma and despite his calm personality he has been shook multiple times bringing up his past. Now I know people are going to say "How can Sephiroth know of Vergils past to use such illusions on him?" Which is a fair point if it wasn;t for the fact he someone knows the pasts of multiple people in his world he had never meet previously and is able to manipulate them accordingly. It's stated he has some kind of telepathey and mind powers once he became godlike so it wouldn't be a problem for him to learn of Vergils past and use it against him. Again I appreciate the civil discourse.

Also with regards to Sephiroths illusions. Vergil lacks any weakness to illusions or even mental attacks. When trapped in the illusion of the nameless demon, he was fully aware escaped with ease. Vergil's concentration mechanic, while possibly non canon, directly contradicts this argument, as it turns concentrating into one of Vergi'ls special abilities.With Nelo Angelo, he was brainwashed for around 10 years by Mundus himself, and even then just seeing Eva's amulet was enough to partially break through, showing further mental fortitude. Also, he died because Dante was better then him, not because Mundus was mind controlling him. (Quoting another youtube user here) Second, Yamato. The inability to cut through Rebellion is easily explained. It is Dante's power given a physical form, and as such is as powerful as he is. Arkham's corrupted form can also be explained this way, as he had the (corrupted and uncontrolled) power of Sparda, who was able to challenge reality warping beings and win. For Kalina Ann, however, I lack a proper explanation, possible due to Vergil's exhaustion, as Jester, a lesser demon, was able able to catch Yamato barehanded. The only feat of speed Jester has is dancing around bullets, so it's safe to say Vergil far exceeds him in speed, but was unable to beat him. Now let's look at the feats that can be attributed to Yamato. Dante, who is inexperienced with Yamato (show with his inability to perform judgement cuts), was able to slice through the Fortuna hell gate in a single slice from a great distance. It is also the only weapon show to be capable of wounding Nero's devil bringer while being used by Sanctus (someone who clearly lacks the skills to unlock Yamatos full potential), which was able to block a point blank Rebelion stinger with Nero at his weakest. Finally, force edge, with carries a fraction of Sparda's full power, but is still significantly deadly. Force Edge is weaker than Rebellion, but it is just as versatile with attacking options. Giving Sephiroth Supernova while neglecting to give Vergil the Force Edge, among other things, seems to show some level of bias, at least to me.

Right but you have to understand the comic book power of breaking the 4th wall. Deadpool can literally stop the fight at any point and just leave, or go back in time to the creation of Dante in the video game creators mind and kill him before Dante is even made. Deadpools powers borderline on insanity. It's not about Deadpools speed or his strength but his rediculous other powers. Deadpoool literally killed the entire marvel universe including "unkillable" manifestations of the comic book creators through sheer dumb shenanigans.

I dont understand why people say "its a scam". You KNOW its not a scam, thats why you continue to watch the Death Battles everytime they are created. The biggest argument you can make is if they MAY hav made a calculation error when they spoke of actual numbers, yet half of you are too lazy to do the math yourself so have no room to speak on it. They literally have multiple people working on each death battle and argue with each other constantly each time to decide who would win. So i understand if you are unhappy with the result, but saying "its a scam" just because your character didnt win (or because you are simply a hater) is just being a kid

David Wray Well if you can prove it than ok, but until then I believe it's a scam they made up. For a long time I agreed with this episode until my friend pointed out all the bs they made up. For example they said Vergil's sword can't actually cut through anything and it's just a myth when A. Dante who has the same skills and strength as him sliced a building with it and B. Who tf do you think you are, challenging the writers if they say it can cut through anything it can cut through anything.

Funny how Dante and Vergil have Wolverine level healing factor and Vergil dies to Sephiroth whom has little to no healing at all. Vergil/Dante can LITTERALY have a sword in their chest and NOT DIE. This fight was bs.

Their healing factors aren't that BS. The worst they've taken was taking stabs and Vergil being cut in half (supposedly). It's also been shown that their healing factors can be overtaxed, as shown when Dante got bodied by Vergil in their first fight, only getting up again as a result of Rebellion awakening and him obtaining his Devil Trigger, after which he passed out. So they aren't that OP in terms of healing. All you'd really need to do is cut them to pieces and separate the parts or burn them, which Sephiroth is capable of doing.
