I remember my late father tell us how happy he was to see me and my younger brother just hanging out together. Many years later, now that I'm a dad, I understand what my dad was saying. I LOVE hearing that my kids hang out together and just enjoy each other's company. I'm sure your parents feel the same way. 😁

Hell of a job guys. Thanks for the video. This is a theme that pro scooter manufacturers should be striving for. I enjoy some suspension myself, but the most important thing that manufactures miss is the size of the wheels. LOSE those tiny wheels. Just lose them. These are not a kids kick scooter. If you're going to build a scooter that runs at high speeds, you need stability. Bicycles and motorcycles have better stability because they have much larger, heavier wheels. This allows a tremendous amount of centrifugal force to be built up, stabilizing the machine. Lose those 10 and 11 inch wheels and go for at least 15 inch or so. You guys did a hell of a job here. Thank you again for the video.

When your first battery exploded, there is a very high likelihood that only a small fraction of the individual battery cells inside suffered damage. you could have bought a new BMS protection board and rebuilt it for significantly less than buying a new battery. Cool video and amazing build!!👍🛴

Trust me, if you get a good quality battery, you will be fine. These guys did not do their research or spent their money cheaply and got a UnitPackPower battery, they’re notorious for poor build quality as well as bad BMS and cells that do not aid in that. Any reasonable battery on the market would never react that way and cause a fire like that as it should be tuned to the parameters it can handle. Have fun building!

This was incredible to watch and I love all of your videos, but as soon as you pulled out the first battery and showed it was from Amazon, I was almost certain there was going to be a fire. I'm an engineer and do a ton of work with electric vehicles and you basically have two options for lithium batteries for large custom projects: put a ton of hours into learning how to build them yourself using quality cells and components, or shell out the extra cash and get something custom made like you did in the end. Anything else is a gamble, especially Chinese packs from Amazon. You blamed the issue on the motor controller, and technically proper settings on the motor controller COULD have prevented the battery pack from exploding, but so should the pack itself. The listing on Amazon clearly states that the pack has a BMS Board, something that would have prevented a (presumably) over-discharge related fire. In this case though, it clearly failed. Sorry if this is seen as unsolicited advice, you're crazy smart but I'd hate to see you waste more money on videos through mistakes like this.

Very true what you did is run the scooter without tuning while running so much power with that big battery that was a big battery big boy I don’t know if it had a BMS on it. I’m not sure but something that big should have a BMS on it and should’ve protected your battery in theory but yes, not that I think of you running it as fast as you could you were overheating it so that was a wire issue that can be controlled with the right controller with the right toning my controller and the best controller in my opinion is.The fardriver controller with the Bluetooth features kind of similar to what you’re doing with your controller. You’re tuning it this way you can run a safe system without overheating and it’s sad that you had to experience the loss through the lack of homework, but you guys took a big risk and you figured it out I mean, hey respect, much respect, and that is exactly what you wanna pitch to your fans cause you can have the strongest battery and the strongest motor and you could even have a controller that can handle all that, but if you’ll let everything run wild, those are the results of the fire but you already know this. I’m explaining this basically because you know I’m doing a battery upgrade actually I’m doing a whole bike upgrade but I’m starting with the battery first and it’s not crazy power. It’s only a 48 V with a.20ah and everything else I’m gonna leave stock until my far driver controller comes then I’m gonna practice the tuning with the battery and the stock motor then I’m gonna go by 1500 W rear motor and then I’m gonna work on the controller again and that’s gonna be my final upgrade that’s as much power as I want. That’s as much power as I need now the range the range is what I really really want so if I’m not getting that with the battery and I’m not satisfied, then I will upgrade I will stay with the same 48 V system. I will just up the Kapacity the range now I’m gonna get back to the video because at this point, I know you’re gonna make it run because it was the controller that was the issue. If you would’ve had that controller and tuned it you would’ve had a successful video the first time very very good content and thank you because there are things that I’ve learned in this video as well. Great content.

for reference everyone since this guy does not post a parts list to gatekeep easy projects the motor is a MY1020 motor most likely the 1800w or 2000w version. the controller is a KELLY KVD7215N the battery is likely 72v nominal unsure if he got 2 36 and ran series or 2x 72v and ran parallel. all this is attainable for under $1000 bought seperately and can be used in most anything its very easy to setup and is mostly plug and play. for example i have this exact setup in my powerwheels dont think this is grand and extravagant to where you cant do this, ANYONE can do this. its cool and fun dont get me wrong but its alot easier than made seem
