I WAITED until I was 41 to get married. I'm So Glad I waited because I did NOT settle.

My parents met at 20 and married at 29, they always takes piss out of each other but they truly are best friends as when me and my dad go to the pub without my mum, his first thing to say is always it feels weird not being here with your mum whilst being surrounded by his mates of 30+ years. He's the only guy I know that loves spending time with her constantly, although once any sport comes on he gets his betting figures out.

I agree. Some that help to want to live again. Even if you are not with them

Yes, I totally agree…it’s the same as loving a person but not being “in love” with that same person…major difference

I learned this as a child in the 60’s listening to actor Jimmy Stewart’s character in the classic war between the states movie “Shenandoah” respond to the young Confederate officer who asked his permission to marry his precious daughter. The young man professed his great love for Stewart’s daughter. To which Stewart responded “But do you like her.” He then went on to explain why loving your spouse is important, but nowhere near as important as liking your spouse.

I dated my most favorite woman I've ever met in my life for 7 years. After the 3rd or 4th year I asked her to be my wife because that's what she wanted but I didn't. I never ended up marrying her and she left me after the seventh year and I went instant no contact and haven't heard from her in over 3 years. I will love and think about that woman until I am no longer alive. I don't want any other woman and her only and if I can't have her I don't want anyone. I'll just live out the rest of my time remembering the Perfection we've had together

Sometimes you love and like someone but after 20 years of marriage you may still love that person but things changed and now you you don't like them, you may even resent them.

In Italian Love means Amore, in English is mixed between Bene and Amore. So is more confounding

Wow interesting because I told my mother about an hour ago I'm going to the zoo, and she said what are you going to do at the zoo it's just animals, I told her "you got married didn't you?" as if that was a very important decision compared to what decision I just made to go to the zoo I've never been to, the funny but a little sad thing for me is I'M 51 years old, never had one girlfriend, we unfortunately moved from NY state to the lousy Midwest, I'm Italian, prefer to marry an Italian woman, not much here in the Midwest, and yes yes yes very important that you really pick the right one...I just showed her this video

Ehhh. It's all a crapshoot really. Life is ALL relative. For some, their relationship does last a lifetime even through vast differences. And there also plenty of relationships that supposedly are match mades in heaven that burn out as fast as they start. Finding a partner that is mentally stable is one of the most undervalued traits when looking for a mate. Mentally unstable people bail when the tough gets going, while the mentally strong rise to the occasion and weather the storms of life.
