When the sister laughed about confession done every week, I smiled. As a Catholic once a month is fine, yet for me, a new Catholic as of Easter 2021, I go once a week myself, and if I miss one, I'm on the phone to make an appointment when I can. It's a beautiful sacramental I wish the whole world could do. It is amazing the gift God gave to us in it. I cry, sob at times after confession watching people rush about, thinking they need this or that.. and all they need is Christ. Thank you sisters for your prayers and all you do to capture and save as many souls as possible. It is beautiful.

Mary, my dear. It is no impediment to become one of the third branch of the Carmelite family. I did my formation in the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. It is a long story as to why I then received a vocation to become a nun in a new way. Defending the Faith through cyberspace. Anyway, this message is not about me. The commitment to the Secular Order should not in any way serve as an impediment to family life. It was a commitment on one Sunday a month as a community day where we learn, pray and meet together with our sisters. In addition, one weekend retreat once a year. We were held to only two of the seven daily prayer times: Lauds and Vespers with Compline as optional. You would, I'm sure, be welcome to go to a community day. No one would ever pressure you. It is a call, like any other. In many ways, those of us without secular careers and marriages have it much easier. To carry the Carmelite charism into the secular world can be challenging. Anyway, I thought I would let you know about this. God bless you. I hold you in my prayers. I would be grateful for yours.

clairstberry 0 seconds ago Let’s tell the truth. The denial of God that the previous three or four entries assert is the polar opposite of what the nuns pray for. Jesus Christ the son of God will return to this earth. They pray for His return. satan seduces and lies to many people and pretends that there is no God and appeals to their pride that they can live life any way they desire. The nuns that you claim to admire realize that satan is a liar and that those who do not believe in God have been seduced by satan’s lies. You have also been wrapped in pride. I know what that feels like. But God, who is rich in mercy sent Jesus Christ, the innocent one, God in the flesh, to die for us so that all of us who believe in Jesus will have eternal life. And we pray that you will believe because you will not get to Heaven without believing. Without believing in Jesus Christ you will be damned eternally in everlasting flames meant for the devil and his demons. But the one who is damned has chosen, chosen to deny Christ. Don’t do that . If you still resist Jesus, please don’t flatter yourself that you are like these women who have chosen God and believe in him. Forsake your sins. Choose Jesus. Amen

I spent 4 years in Catholic boarding schools in Malta and have very fond memories of some of the nuns I knew there as well as of the chapel life we boarders could participate in if we wished to do so. I'm Eastern Orthodox and while we don't have different religious orders as in Roman Catholicism, monastic life is greatly valued in Orthodox Catholicism (yes, we also call our churches catholic, i.e. universal). For both men and women, monastic life tends to be very similar to the way of the Carmelites: a life devoted to work and prayer, with more emphasis on the latter, naturally. And again, similar to the role deep silence plays in Carmelite prayer, in Orthodox monasticism silence and the practice of the silent Prayer of the Heart are key elements in one's spiritual development and approach to God.

Yes! Our county is blessed with a Camelite order and 2 Franciscan, and a Benedictine order. It’s our cloistered nuns who are saving us from annihilation. I also feel when Pope Benedict XVI Emeritus dies there will be chaos. His prayers are holding back evil.

I enjoyed seeing a little bit of behind the curtain of these Sister's. I grew up with the Carmelites Sisters cloister nearby. My Mother would always say, "I'll call the Nuns to pray." I'm confident the sister's prayed me into my solid and lifelong relationship with Jesus. The Sister's have since relocated to a new location and their old convent was purchased by a lovely church. But it will never be the same. Those halls are hollow ground.

Jesus is not a religion, you can call on the name of Jesus and He will be right there with you, You don;t have to join anything to be part of God's family, you only have to accept that it is Jesus Who is The way The truth and The Life. Ask God for forgiveness, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you are welcomed into the family of God, the Holy Spirit will do the rest if you let Him. God desperately wants people to come to Him, not to a religion or a building or a heading but to Him and Him alone. He's waiting for you, call to Him, I promise you with all that is within me you will not regret it. You don't need 'special words' just call to your Father, He's waiting for you to call His name, to welcome you and to love you, as He has always done, only now you will be loving Him too. It's the best decision I ever made in my life when I gave up on 'religion' but instead gave my heart to my Father God.

As a Discalced Carmelite Secular traditionalist, I can say that the example of the holy life of Carmel is helping me greatly as I prepare for death. For some unknown reason, I’ve gone into multiple organ failure. I’m 65 & have been a Carmelite for 30+ years. I’ve found that a quiet & prayerful life, lived according to the Holy Rule has helped me greatly in my marriage, as well as a parent. (One son decided to turn his back on me & all religious Faith; without my Faith & the guidance offered, I’d find it very difficult to let him go his own way. I know it is a way that makes him the center of the universe & will not sustain him when his world collapses, as our lives do... However, trying to convince him will make him do in his heels ... It is my job to love him, to pray for him, not to fix him. It took me a very long time to really understand & let go, however! 😉) The Rule isn’t “pie in the sky”, but very practical & useful. Whether one is Catholic or not, or even Christian, people may find benefit in the Rule. Such people will find wisdom & guidance there.

Thank you dear Father God, for the generosity of our Carmelite Nuns, who opted to follow Jesus in a hidden way of Life. A Life All for you, my loving God. I pray that many of our young people today be given the grace to respond generously to your call to offer themselves to you, a hidden life in silence to pray for all mankind. St. Teresa Margaret Redi, please intercede for us. Amen.

God bless you beautiful woman and all your sisters. Pray for the world it needs it now. Very nice to have a beautiful woman in your life from a man. I've been lucky hope you can slip a prayer in for my family two people working the world came in to my house. Need a little help getting us back all together. So nice you say pray on the phone to some lonely people. You may be the only friendly kind voice that they hear that is so large. I know kindness and love is always the best way

Thankyou God for the intercessors that you have placed on this earth. This is a calling not for anyone this os for a very very special kind of individual to give up your life to prayer 7 days a week for the rest of your life is very challenging. And so I graciously thankyou Jesus Christ for these prayer Angels of the world that keep evil at bay its tremendous . Hallelujah
