I love product tests/side by side comparisons.👍🏼 It was night and day. New tires are crazy hooked up. So much more sidewall flex. It made the suspension not have to work as hard. It looked way more planted in the ruff sections. Keep up the great work. I always look forward to a new video!

I love testing out cheap tires. I was always looking on Ebay for a new tire combo for my crawlers. I think the best set I found were a knock off of the ones traxxas put on the trx 4. I have been looking for a new crawler project to try and get me going again with my other rigs and seeing you with this bomber has given me something to aim for, its now time to try and find the cash.

Man this thing really transformed when you put those new tires on there troy. And For the price? Can't go wrong. BUT. I have to say I am not sure if "crawler" is the category we go with, for this rig. I like seeing these things bouncing over rocks and doing uphill with sand flying!!! lol. Looking good so far though troy and I know that part of the build is coming I would think . lol Great video and REALLY impressive tires

I already had some RC Lion rims picked out and I like the aggressive look of these tires. Once I add brass I think those inserts will need to be swapped out. My truck may see water or mud as well as rock crawling so I think 3d printed will last longer than foam. My only concern is the tire tearing on sharp rocks because the rubber looks much thinner. How well do you think these will hold up durability wise?
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
Good considerations! I am starting to be a big fan of the 3D printed inserts!

I saw these the other day and was gonna order them but I couldn't find them on Amazon cheaper than $56. At that price I'll just go with proline for around $65. Or even jconcepts, duratrax or RC4WD. Doesn't really seem like a deal to me
@RoadsideRC2 жыл бұрын
These are $56 for 4. The other brands are that price for 2.
@TheRCBuildersPost2 жыл бұрын
@@RoadsideRC You can get proline hyrax 2.2 for $33.99 a pair. That's $67 a set.. Jconcepts ruptures 2.2 are 28.50 a pair, that's $57 a set. RC4WD 2.2 Boggers are $31.99 a pair, that's $63 a set. Duratrax 2.2 Deep Woods (which is what looks like these are copies of) are $20.49 a pair. That's $41 a set. Not trying to argue, just saying I don't think these are worth the price to me personally to try when the name brands are just a few bucks more or in this case the one being copied is actually cheaper lol. All prices were taken off Amain.
@philthy50582 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCBuildersPostyou are correct. I've been buying the duratrax deepwoods and showdowns for around $30 a pair with wheels.
@TheRCBuildersPost2 жыл бұрын
@@philthy5058 I'm all for cheap products but I hope people new to the hobby know that duratrax is actually cheaper than these and are the real deal lol. Or even that they can buy name brand tires for this price. I just joined the hobby two years ago and was told all about Amazon. Which I found a lot of great deals but also found I was paying more for some Amazon parts than what I would've been for name brand parts. Us that's been in the hobby a little while know what to look for, new comers have no clue.

@@RoadsideRC standard direction for mud, reverse direction for rocks. I’ve seen some rock crawler guys do it in there 1:1s years ago and they swore by it.
@RoadsideRC2 жыл бұрын
I need to actually try it I guess. For disclosure, I work for a tire company. In the past, when I brought up this idea at work...I was laughed at. LOTS of time and $$ go into designing the patterns for their intended usage. In RC, we are just copying it. Time to get testing it sounds like! :)
@White000Crow2 жыл бұрын
@@RoadsideRC but that’s kind of like saying I bought this factory Jeep to go wheeling and turning it into a monster rock crawler. Jeep did all that R&D but the garage mechanic made it their own. Weren’t these originally intended for mud? This is the TSL pattern. People liked them because they were one of the cheapest options on the market and started using them on the rocks.
