When you are talking about it hovering it made me think of the first time I used my 18’ extension pole to clean my gutters. I had my big 4000 psi 4.0gpm pressure washer on it with whatever the green tip is. First time I hit the trigger at full extension I didn’t know how much that thing was going to kick back. I remember the way I was holding it made it pin it against my body and I could left go of the trigger and it straight up knocked me over. Now I know to really lean into it and hold it on my side. It is surprising how much power they have.

Keav this comment is for your viewers.. For the love of all that is holy… please please use components rated for high pressure on the outlet of the washers. For every fitting and adapter we increase the chance of leakage or hose whip. Stick to NPT fittings whenever possible. When using check valves (which you definitely should), make sure you are depressurizing BOTH SIDES of the the valve. Potentially, you could relieve the pressure washer sides while still holding over 1000psi on the hose/gun side of the check valve. I’m a mechanical engineer that designs piping systems for chemical manufacturing. This is starting to get in in the realm where the user needs to know what they’re doing or they risk getting injured.
@CarsWithKeavАй бұрын
Totally agree with all this and make sure just because it says it’s stainless or a good material doesn’t mean it can hold 1k PSI. I always try to make sure any fitting can handle at least 3 times what I’m working with. All of the fittings I used are rated for at least 3k PSI. I know you can save money getting cheaper ones or converting an air hose reel to use a pressure washer hose, but to me it’s not worth the chance it bursts on you.

Hi from the UK. The humming is pump cavitation. It's the pump spinning faster than the water available. Try fitting a small expansion vessel on the inlet. This will hold a small resovoir of water under pressure to satisfy the initial surge.
@CarsWithKeav28 күн бұрын
Appreciate the info on this!
@gabegabriel215528 күн бұрын
Cavitation is like a car wheel spinning. Normal domestic pressure washers deliver around 1gal per min. At 3 gal the mains water pressure will struggle particularly through small bore pipe. Something to bear in mind is pumps are made to pump not suck hence your quirks. Love to see an update if you decide to give it a go @CarsWithKeav

Mine is actually a 30amp so no problem there, but could be an issue for most 20AMP circuits. They hum even when starting separate if the water isn’t full unrestricted flow so think I got some kind of flow issue. Some ayes I could be creating a Venturi effect with how my input splitter is setup.

@joevanseeters2873Ай бұрын
Mr. Keav, you need to start your own pressure washer company or do some sort of collaboration unit with whomever would be willing to work with you as a consultant. I know you and Josh are friends and he is starting his own pressure washer company. With all the testing you have done over the years on pressure washers and foam cannons, you are now sort of the "specialist in pressure washers" through your gained knowledge and also your extensive (and very well thought out and presented by the way sir) testing that you have done over the past couple of years. Offer your knowledge to someplace like Giraffe, Josh, or the company that makes these pressure washers. I'm talking taking all your vast and valuable knowledge in designing the DREAM PRESSURE WASHER. Dual? Why stop there, using three of these dirt cheap (but what appear to be decent quality) units on the brand new "SUPER TRIPLE KEAV" pressure washer! LOL. Seriously though Mr. Keav, you need to work with some company and come up with everything you would want in a pressure washer with a dual motor configuration similar to what is shown here to make an affordable, but good quality, using quality parts, a slick design appearance, could be used on a wall mount, or some type of cart or wheel mount, whatever the user wants for their needs, but at a reasonable price that most enthusiast could afford. It seems that most of the pressure washers are sub-par in manufacturing standards when they are at the lower price points. I have had four pressure washers over the past five years and to be honest, they were all JUNK! 90% of the world doesn't want a $2500 Kranzle unit from some of the offerings out there for the unit with all the accessories. It would be cool to have a great quality dual motor unit (with all your wish list items on it) for in the range of $1,000! Your testing (and Josh's) have been some of the best testing of the various units (of various price points) on KZbin! That's the truth buddy. Keep up the great work Mr. Keav. Even if it only lasts 50 hours it's worth it to me. What I am going to use it for is strictly for rinsing off my car after washing it. I am going to use the suction hose feature and just buy a bunch of gallons of distilled water at walmart (1 gallon only costs like $1.26) and pour it in buckets and I will essentially have a spot free rinse thru a pressure washer. Some run check valves and others don't. I like to play it safe not just to stop sending pressure to the other unit, but to keep them running as even as possible at the point where they combine. I bet that hydrojetter can do some damage really with a handheld spray gun I think 4gpm is the limit at which you will get wrist fatigue in a very short period of time.

@CarsWithKeav20 күн бұрын
I’ll keep looking, but have not seen any hopefully they get back in stock. How did the testing go? Some have struggled with leaking due to the threading, but good Teflon tape seems to resolve it.

It worked better than expected for such an inexpensive unit. Yes, the fittings included were all plastic and leaked so I bought a few at local hardware store which worked to stop leaks.

@ Awesome! Someone was a bit snippy about the thread quality I’m like it was $90 with an induction motor you can’t expect perfection.
@philipparana9225Ай бұрын
Your creating a venturi at the inlet split for the first pressure washer thats why you loose prime. You would need a larger inket dia split into 2 pressure regulators and you would solve the problem provided there are no other restrictions.
@CarsWithKeavАй бұрын
That’s possible, but not sure bigger diameter will help since my feed line in the wall is 1/2 inch. Maybe just coming from the main hose splitting with equal length hoses and feeding to each one will be better. I have more than enough flow at almost 8gpm with my 5/8 hose.
@AMI_DetailАй бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav @philipparana9225 could be onto something... As I mentioned in my DM, I have been running dual Ryobi's for a couple of months and only noticed a couple of times where only one would engage. To correct it, I would simply let off the trigger then go again. I never had the Ryobi combo lose prime like you're experiencing. One difference is that I am teeing off my water line, but the have equal runs to both units. That's a great observation, Philip. It probably makes even a bigger difference as the demand with higher GPM goes up.

I've been using an old gas-powered Speed Clean pressure washer that's rated at 2200 psi at 1.9 gallons per minute and was thinking of buying the Pircaath you show that's on sale for $71. I'm retired and only have two vehicles that I take care of and was wondering if it's worth it to go electric. Gas is a pain at times and requires more maintenance. Your opinion matters. Thanks
@CarsWithKeavАй бұрын
That’s the reason most go electric just a bit more convenient with no carburetor to deal with. It’s not going to feel as powerful as the gas one, but they are very efficient. Anything in the $100 range from Ryobi or Greenworks will work as well. These just aren’t proven over a long time period yet so that headache is a possibility of it failing with really no support to get it fixed or replaced.

@CarsWithKeav Thanks. If I buy one, I'll keep the gas-powered one just in case. Right there I just sold myself an electric pressure washer.😁 Thanks for your opinion and great informative videos.

I’m just plugging them into two separate 110v circuits in my house. One is a 15amp and the other 20amp.
@THeBoZZHoGG14 күн бұрын
If your circuit breaker is working correctly, because the vast majority of residential breakers are thermal trip, then for continuous load the max ampacity before tripping should be 80% of circuit rating. SO for a 20Amp breaker the max continuous load before OCP kicks in will be 16Amps. So at 19A it will work for a few minutes, but should trip the OCP, if it does not then something is wrong with the breaker.
@CarsWithKeav13 күн бұрын
The main one in my garage is actually a 30 amp so it wouldn't trip, but I did test them combined on a 20 amp on another plug across the house to make sure using a 12 AWG extension cord.

Does there have to be a point when your having fun experimenting in your garage? People wanted me to figure out a dual setup and I did it my way of course with cheap Amazon pressure washers. I mean I mention many times that it was for fun and not something most should do as there is quirks to It. Of course I’ll get it dialed in and working great at some point. 🤣

Have you been to the self serve car wash lately? Some of those are putting out 5gpm or more, and it's brilliant. Unfortunately the chemicals they provide suck, so washing at home is still better.
@CarsWithKeavАй бұрын
@@joeschmoe6908 Yeah. All depends on how many people are using the bays at the same time. They are running like 8hp belt driven pressure washers so you could get more by yourself, but they are usually restricted to a certain amount so every bay has good flow. Most of them typically run 1200 PSI at 3GPM.
@AMI_DetailАй бұрын
@kevinstover5155 I've been running dual Ryobi's for a couple of months. For me, it has been awesome. I don't have any of the lagging or priming issues with my setup. I love the flexibility. When I'm using Chem-X Stars and Stripes, I can get 1400 PSI with 2.1 GPM, driveway wash I go with the 5.0 nozzle and land at 900 PSI with 2.6 GPM. The real flexibility is when I am washing inside with no drain... I drop to a single Ryobi with a 2.5 nozzle for 1.25 GPM to limit the amount of water I have to squeegee. Then for wheels, I use a single Ryobi but go with a 4.0 nozzle and drop pressure to around 500 PSI. Plenty of cleaning power up close, but way less blow back.

Man i never did this and i can tell you you don't need check valves, think about it. When a pump kicks on with a hose it already has over so man psi forcing back into the pump from design for gods sake. Just run em the simplest way and when you thread tape an orinf or rubber sealed fitting that floats, your an idiot, becuae you can't seal tge. Gap between the nut and hose, the only way to seal them is properly and that's a clean unmolested bore and good oring
@CarsWithKeav17 күн бұрын
I get what your saying, but the main reason for the check valves is to have them in out there pressure at the same point evenly right where the my combine so they cut on and off at the same time. If no check valves if not turned on at the same time they get out of sync on the auto start stop. Believe me ai tried it without check valves it works most of the time, but every now and then they go into a surge frenzy fighting reaching other.
