Some very good ideas here. Thanks.

Try one of those rubber paint removal wheels as a base for your leather. It should be balanced and centered. You can get ones with a solid rubber wheel. Tried to post a pic but can't for some reason.

If you want great chisels, try Marples or Stanley.

I forgot to point out that you can put the drill in reverse and do the opposite side of two sided tools like marking knives, axes, and small whittling and carving knives. You want always to strop in a trailing manner opposite of the normal sharpening method of pushing into the abrasive.

very good show

Looks good. I was thinking of doing this on a lathe. I might be able to keep the wobble down a little more.

I would think glue a 1/4" plywood or steel plate to the bare tool then add the leather to it to make a much better turn table.

Got some good info here and it's a good idea for a power strop, but too much talking... it took too long to get to the point. 9-1/2 minutes is not really a "short video"

Just FYI, a jeweler's loupe is pronounced "loop", not "loopay".

Those are usually referred to as "carpenter chisels", designed for carpentry, not fine cabinetry.

Not intended for a negative comment, just kind of more info. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the info. I've used a plywood or mdf disc in the same way, but I believe the foam pad would work better for gouges since it would conform to the shape of the tool.

mdf does work fine, ...I should've mentioned that in the video. It's a great instant stationary strop too (with compound) when you need something immediate at hand, though I like leather better overall.

Caution: do not use the coors and power tools at the same time.

Way too long. This is supposed to be a piece about stropping not about the quality of your tools choice. Would have been a lot better and easier to watch if it had been more to the point no pun intended
