Yesss I’m from the US and I was mesmerized by the seeds in the fruit!! Our government has genetically modified the food to stop producing seeds so that farmers have to purchase new seeds instead of collecting from the ground. City planners also purposely plant an abundance of male trees (pollen producing) and remove female trees (fruit producing). To have fruit bearing trees near your home is a blessing!! Also gmo’s are not good for the nervous system or the immune system. Also our food tastes fake. I’m so proud to be an African descendant and pray I get to go one day

Here in the Philippines, we also got the Soursop and it is called Guyabano. Years ago, there are a lot of Guyabano trees in our neighborhood, but they slowly die due to pollution. Also the Papaya, they are easy to plant so they are still a lot of them here. Jackfruit or Langka too is a lot in our neighborhoods. I remember picking them with my grandmother from her friend's backyard and we are going to carry those spiky fruits to houses. Oh! Also the Indian Mango and that banana! I think it is called Saba? The fruit has full sized seeds in them unlike what you find here in the so called "United States". The fruit here has been genetically modified to look more "appealing", yet is less nutritious due to the smaller seed sizes. For example, if you compare the seeds of bananas from the past to the present, you will notice that the seeds have all but disappeared from genetic manipulation and selective breeding. You can only find seeded grapes at select few locations in the "States" these days. (Edit - grammatical errors)
@lewis75152 жыл бұрын
How can it be less nutritious, "due to", smaller seed size? Do you eat the seeds?.. If seeds are eliminated, wouldn't the resources the plant would use to create the seeds then not remain in the fruit - resulting in a _higher_ nutritional value by weight, with smaller seeds: not, lower?
@botanic34282 жыл бұрын
Nutrition does not relate to seed size.
@NamaiWalterHeins-re4nu2 жыл бұрын
Have you seen what bananas looked like before selective breeding? Almost not edible because of the big seeds. There is a difference between gmo and natural selective breeding. Although selective breeding usually is for esthetics and not for aroma and taste 😬😅
@botanic34282 жыл бұрын
@@NamaiWalterHeins-re4nu Selective breeding is also, at least historically, in major part done to increase yield per season of said fruits, wheats, grains etc.. Wheat as we know it has been bread for centuries to look as it does now. With a hexaploid genome, with seeds that dont fall off the plant and other factors which make increase yield. GMOs in its ideal form just fasten the process of selective breeding to an very high degree. Being able to specifically look for desired traits and enforce them in future generations has incredible potential. The problem lies within this very high number of possible changes to the plants. Changes in plants with GMOs can really range from highly benefical for all humans, in more ways increasing living quality in third world countries, to purely aesthetic changes like reducing or stopping production of certain enzymes in apples that, when in contact with oxygen oxidize cellular matter thus turning apples brown. Its all a very nuanced topic, alltogether one not even remotely as black and white as @Zhakoh suggests.
@NamaiWalterHeins-re4nu2 жыл бұрын
@@botanic3428 Honestly I think you overestimate the gmo aspects. It sound like you work at marketing at a gmo business . Your arguments sounds indoctrinated 🤣. "Highly beneficial for all humans" / "increasinh living quality in third world countries" Have you ever research how many farmers killed themselves out of shame after they invested in gmo's and didn't get the yield they were promised by the gmo-sellers. So they couldn't pay of their investments and their debts. Have you ever researched how many farmers went back conventional farming after serveral seasons of red numbers with gmo? So after the research I did, I do not believe gmo yield more and produce better quality seeds. They might even cause harm to humanity contributing to sickness among animals and humans.

It's a continent of 54 countries, and within those countries are hundred of different languages and tribes. most people in the west still think it's one giant land mass and that people live in huts, have no internet or water. Angella is from Uganda (east Africa) and she's teaching you about her culture specifically. You wouldn't lump mexico, U.S and Canada's foods as north american culture. so the more you know 🙂

As a child when I used to live in jamaica me and my brothers used to roast the jackfruit seeds, mm.. so tasty. Soursop juice with a regular with Sunday dinners but also enjoyed anytime. Great job👍🏾.
