Nice little gun for the money. I seem to be doing loads of this panelling at the moment and running my nail gun off my compresser but it's heavy and cumbersome with an airline to drag around. Think this could be an invaluable addition to the arsenal! Thanks Phil, very helpful and informative. 👍

Nice job of the shaker style panels. I've owned this 18g nailer/stapler for about three years. Got to say, it is not a bad piece of kit for the money. I picked mine up when it was in the bargain section for just under 50 quid. I've used it on a number of jobs, both at home and at work. It is not part of the 20v range, as it takes an 18v battery - good luck finding a spare! Even at full price, you just can't grumble...drum roll...here comes some grumbling. Whilst ideal for fitting skirting, architrave, and the like, it is a bit too bulky to use on smaller projects. The only other advice I'd offer to anyone considering this item: don't use the pins that come with it! They are not galvanized and will rust - especially if you are going to use water, or acrylic based paints - leaving unsightly brown patches over time. Alas, I discovered this the hard way. For the workshop, I finally bit the bullet, and bought a small, very quiet compressor along with an 18g pin gun. The compressor came in just under £150, but the nailer was a bargain at only £29. Of course, I wouldn't want to rock up at somebody's house with a compressor, or drag a hose around, but for the workshop, it really is a pleasure to use. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience with this item.

I think the Aldi and lidl tools are fine for DIY. I got a 4 in 1 tool from lidl and it does great. 20v, 2 ah battery. Plenty enough

It depends on how much work you got, mate, if that will be OK. I got the ones you run of a compressor and work well but are pain because you got to drag a compressor. I got the paslode 2nd fix, and it's a beast fires into anything, where I think youv will find that one will struggle with some walls

Cordless is the way to go... Lugging a compressor about... Up stairs etc... I'll give it a miss. LoL

The difference in price between a paslode and the ferex is over £400 so unless you are using it a lot it's not a worthwhile investment. I have both battery (DeWalt) and air nailers and there are occasions where the air wins out...the battery can be too aggressive on small Scotia trims especially the non wooden type even with the settings at the lowest.whereas the small air nailers which uses 18g pins leaves no marks and has less tendency to split the trim

Not sure tbh .. I suppose they are long enough to go through the wood and into the surface it's attaching to.

Aldi sell the battery packs and charger separately seen them in my local one

I don't think they are the same as the nail gun said not active battery compatible ... as it's 18v not 20/40v like the battery packs online at Aldi.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Was trying to find a brand new charger for my ferrex sander brand new but someone had stolen the charger. Took me weeks to find a charger as all are different and every battery is different. Think there is like 5 different batteries and chargers or more. Total ballache. It was a utter nightmare to match up battery to charger. You think its correct and nope its not.

The only drawback is when people get over exuberant with their nailer and you then have thousands of pin holes to fill 😵‍💫
