very good decision Viday. i also did the same. Life completely transformed. After this social media detox life, i got addicted to 6 things very badly 1. Reading 2. Writing 3. Yog & Pranayam 4. extreme vipassana Meditation. 5. Religious practices like bhakti. 6. Upskilling , reskilling, learning. I only watch youtube for learning purposes. Seriously i am talking, i got addicted to these things. Everyday i am experiencing something new. I am growing mentally, physically, financially . I hope in this lifetime i will do something big with my life before leaving from this world.

I prefer books (esp long ones), music, biking, gardening, and baking myself a honeybun with apples and cinamon for a bit of sugar :) I've tried to do bingewatching of a TV show twice and after bingewatching first season of two different TV shows (6 - 8 episodes) I decided its too tiring for me and too boring to watch one series in one day, so I prefer now to watch one episode for week as it was with TV before internet. I feel old :)

There are some authors I like, for example S. Lawhead with "Pendragon" cycle - "Taliesin", "Merlin", "Arthur", "Graal". Great arthurian fantasy more for youngsters though. And of course I love Terry Pratchett's satirical, comedic fantasy novels known as the Discworld - austanding and hilarious :) In this series we can read all or pick up some volumes becouse every volume has its own, individual topic in a society - like politics, religion, pop music, death, movies, banks, art, magic, family, education or love (in every aspect of it). There are also others - Tim Powers with "Drawing of the Dark" (adventure fantasy novel set in 16th century battle of Vienna mixed with arthurian elements), or classic of dark fantasy - "The Black Company" by Glen Cook with like 10 volumes. And of course I like "the Wheel of Time" by R. Jordan, one of the best post-tolkien universums (heavily based on Tolkien, an epigone of Tolkien) though I've hear that the TV show based on it is lame :) And its too long IMO, it could be better comprised in 8 volumes not in 14 volumes :)

U.K. LeGuin was one of the greatest authors of SF and fantasy of 20th century. My fav of her books is "The EarthSea" (at first its trilogy but with another two novels written later) This psychologicaly and philosophicaly intricate world with developed charachters was once adapted on a TV show (AFAIR about 2006) and it was so lame, my god :D Esp I did not like how they portrayed the charachters. The Earth-Sea world is a tropical archipelago with many islands with different cultures. And so most of the population is darkskinned. They all should be like Africans, Hindu peoples and Maori or smt like this. Only one of the heroes was white wizard from the north. And they filmed it with all white cast and only this one wizard was played by black actor. It was for me as much disgusting as todays raceswapping of hobbits and elves from Tolkien books.
